Stat of the game: only 6 turnovers from BSU. When was the last time we did that?

Fun! Fun! Fun! The Rockets had nothing in the tank today. Great play by the freshman and Thompson today. Tough to stay interested in the game with so many fouls, and many were questionable.
Another good game by the red and white at Worthen.
Go Cards!

I'll give both these coaches credit...I'd have been ejected about 7 terrible foul calls ago Agreed. Wow. Terrible calls on both sides. 56 fouls called, and that slowed down in the last 5-7 minutes of the game. 3 DQs, two others with 4. Ugly, ugly game from the stripes. Referees are at their best when they are unnoticed...

Some quick observations:
1. As I said before the game, Toledo does not match up well with BSU
2. After hitting a corner three last game and 3-4 today I believe Gunn may have gained his confidence.
3. Teague may be a second team All Mac player as a Sophomore
4. It would appear that we have a minimum 3 seed locked up which would potentially mean a third meeting with Toledo
5. El Amin had his best game to date as a Card
6. Looks like at least a 20 game winner minimum.

Not sure we can play any better! Awesome effort. Kid is correct as Toledo does not match up up with us. We are clearly the better team. A 3 seed is not bad a thing as it keeps us away from Buffalo. Hopefully the Bulls lay a terd in one of the early round games as like Toledo who does not match up with us, we don’t match up well with Buffalo. Great win today as we are playing well at the right time!

Damn. What a show. Let’s keep this train rolling. NIU a dangerous game, they have played well, we can't stop their quick guards. Western will be a war. Let me play cardfan, "We can easily lose all the rest..."

We COULD easily lose out. But only if we for some reason go back to being the bad Cards. That doesn’t seem likely as loose and happy as those guys seem to be right now. I think it’s fairly likely we go 2-2 to finish, maybe 3-1. The way we’re playing right now is pretty impressive.

I think I need someone to explain why our freshman recruits are no good.
Forget for the moment that Gunn actually hit his long shots, he also handled the ball, rebounded, hit his FTs, and even played some defense.
Likewise, Ish seemed very solid without the 3's he hit handled the ball well, beat his man and created chances for others. Take away some of his outside shots and he still scored enough to make him a good freshman.

It was one good game. How was that? Ish, I have been comfortable would be a solid player. He benefits greatly from game time under pressure. And, Gunn? He often is deadly shooting in practice, but it's been grim in games. Both have had too many games where they seemed out of synch, so it's been hard to see past that. I said this about Mallers last year and about these guys during the rough days. Freshman who are talented and work always become sophomores and it's a different game. Right now, boy, Rob has it right, we really need them, so it would be great if they are coming around and can actually contribute this year. Without any hesitation, I say the odds they don't have more troubles is very low, but we can hope...if they play well it sure makes our chances to get to win games in the tourney better. Both add what we have lacked after losing Tyler, which is some long range guns, and some strength off the bench.

Probably not going to happen at this point but it would be so helpful if Francis could regain some confidence and ability to contribute. Josh Thompson has done a really nice job and plays good d but we need more guard depth. And I’d like to see Francis go out on a high note.

Gunn is going to have to do more than being a catch and shoot guy. Going to have to thin down and work on his lateral quickness big time. He shot the ball well today but he also was not being guarded. The more he plays, the more the scouting report will say get out on him and make him put the ball on the floor. He has a lot of work to do before he becomes a Hall of famer. I liked him as a high school player but he left his ability to get by people at HSE.

It seems like the embarrassing EMU game was a wake up call for this squad. I can't be prouder of how they throttled Toledo both times this yr. I hope BSU sees them a 3rd time in Cleveland. Keep it up Cards.
