I thought the Toledo coach was going to literally (not just figuratively) have kittens right there on the court in the first half. The officiating stunk and it seemed as if they would make a bad call and try to make up for by calling another foul which also was a bad one. Reason it took over two hours to play. I also liked that Fletcher guy. Not sure he's a great outside shooter but he has a nice mid-range to inside game.
Great to see Gunn come out firing and Ish have a great game. All around solid game.

Gunn is going to have to do more than being a catch and shoot guy. Going to have to thin down and work on his lateral quickness big time. He shot the ball well today but he also was not being guarded. The more he plays, the more the scouting report will say get out on him and make him put the ball on the floor. He has a lot of work to do before he becomes a Hall of famer. I liked him as a high school player but he left his ability to get by people at HSE. Whatever his offense, he has to defend, rebound, pass and bring the ball out after a defensive rebound. Best chance to play next year is being an outside threat (whether he ever gets a shot) to spread the floor. He'll back up Mallers, Hazen, probably. So right now, he hits when open outside, I am happy. And he needs some strength and lateral quickness to play D. Don't see a HOF future right now, not that much PT playing behind some good players. But by junior year probably you're right, he has to be able to do something on the bounce. I think Acree, Coleman and others will be our slashers, he may get the chance to drive when matched with bigger players right before that.

Let's give Mallers some credit for D, today. That Toledo guy is good. Mallers has done better than anyone in the MAC on him.
Wish we had the G to do that with Germane Tuesday. Persons will need a lot of help.

German is going to be a major problem for us. He’s got 28 so far vs wmu. We got no one to guard him.

Niu beat wmu. German new career high 31 points. By the way, niu’s floor is so ugly...

It’s one game for Gunn. Let’s see more. this isn’t the only game he’s played like this, come on Yes, it is. When you have a season high in points, when you have double the number of three-pointers and assists made in any other game, not to mention shooting 80% from three and 67% from 2 ... you really haven't had a game like this.

Win out at home and we should be a #3 seed. I also would like to see Kip come in and get some minutes. Is it just a confidence thing or did he run over Whit's dog?

Exactly. Gunn had some games really early where he showed some signs but nothing at all like today’s game. And today’s game saw just about everybody on. He could totally disappear again vs niu. Or against any team that doesn’t give him space to shoot. I mean, I hope not. I hope he’s out of the woods now and contributes like this every game. But one game in 14 is not a good sample size.
