Out rebounded by 11; 29-40. And Eastern's defense on Taylor in 2nd half was the difference in the game. They got 30 points from the center position and we got 10. That was offset some by our better number of 3's.

I think Walton could be very good in the MAC if he doesn't try to shoot jump shots. Very explosive. Can get to the rim often. Just can’t run over people to get there. But shots outside 5 feet, oy.

Haarms is losing his cool. He clearly told both Teague and Persons “F*** You”. You guys see that soccer flop where he was holding his face and ‘writhing in agony’ before just standing up like nothing happened? I liked Haarms until tonight. He looked like a jackass out there. Until he shows me differently, Purdue just has another f#$%ing goon.

I don’t agree at all BSUTony! Double foul call on Hearnes and Teague? 3 charge calls on Walton? No call twice Tayler knocked down driving and no call either time? Moses knocked down late and no call and they hit a 3! Think what you want but we viewed a different game and I seldom complain re refs That’s big 10 basketball and we just are not a physical team that can match it. A Mac team won’t ever get many calls on a big 10 floor, especially not a soft team.

I think they were bad both ways though.

I’m not arguing with your point but at home or a neutral court you get some of these calls!
We got very few other than a few catch up calls as one poster said
I’d love to play them in Charleston!

Don't forget we shot very well on 3pfga and their POY did not shoot well on his 3's.
That leveled the game.
We can improve on this game, and having Trey get back to par will also help.
Whatever you say about Whit, he had the team ready, got pretty good effort.
Not a lot to be really upset about all things considered. Better team won, we hit shots at end to narrow the margin. Good for our power rating. Good experience for some players in a tough gym.
Now have to get ready for tough tournament experience. Never easy to be up several games in a row, all but maybe one, we're likely underdogs.

I can't complain too much. The big difference in game was the first 10 min of the 2nd half and 19-8 advantage to Purdue on the offensive glass. Reality is the only team in the MAC who could beat Purdue more than 2 out of 10 times in Mackey is Buffalo. This was by no means "embarrassing" or anything to be alarmed about.
Will be another tough one against Va tech.

The play of Purdue’s Eastern in the second half was a key too Purdue’s win more than anything we did or didn’t do!
I can deal with 9 point road lose to this Purdue team.
I thought our guys played hard, never quit even though they were outsized at a number of positions dramatically.
Teague getting a fourth foul with 15 minutes left was a serious problem.

Eastern is that dude we don’t have and need. Big strong and versatile. Buffalo has those types.

Not me. Except that would mean we had one or two good wins for that to happen. Not very likely PU loses 2 and we get them that way...

Eastern is that dude we don’t have abd need. Big strong and versatile. Buffalo has those types. Yes and I must say I was really impressed with Buffalo based on watching them beat a very tough West Virginia team. I love our guys but beating Buffalo will be a very tall order!

I like our team. Once Hazen, Walton and Moses are really settled in around mid December to January we ought to be really good. Buffalo is on a higher level.

Eastern is that dude we don’t have abd need. Big strong and versatile. Buffalo has those types. I think he has potentential to be a better B10 player than I thought. At least from play in this game. I've always liked 6'6" or so players who were rugged and athletic. And if they can shoot... We are going in that direction in terms of bigger wings. We'll have a little smaller versions as wing players in Coleman(versatile in similar way) and in Acree (little slighter, but good athlete). And you will like Thomas very much. Again a little slighter, but maybe more athletic and an inch or so taller. Kroft is about 6-5 but not as athletic, with some shooting potential. But this year we are lacking in 6-3 to 6-7 size range. Good call.
