Trey is a good example of something I always say about athletes.
It's easier to change a players' body than it is to change their basic attitude/demeanor.
You see all the time on sports forums things like "Player X will really be something once he develops a hard-nosed attitude". or "If coach Y lights a fire under Player X's butt, he will become very productive"
And I always think to myself: "Ain't happening"

I'm just here to point out that for the first time (I'm pretty sure) in over 10 years (and since I've started following), we're top 100 in KenPom.

I agree with Sherm that we will go as far as TP takes us and I'm not sure that will be enough. I think he gets worn down mentally having to be the constant emotional catalyst for this team.
Mallers, Teague, Moses, Gunn, Ish, Thompson and now Hazen and Walton have such laid back personalities. None of these guys seem to play with much fire or passion. My broken record theme throughout the Whitford era has been we need some other JYD's besides Tayler. Our persona is still too passive, IMO and it especially manifests itself against bigger, more physical teams.

Our persona is still too passive, IMO and it especially manifests itself against bigger, more physical teams. Several of us have been preaching that for years. Taylor was a different player in the second half of the Purdue game as he was breathing hard on the bench and he looked worn out. The token full court pressure is something we are going to see a lot. We need for someone else to take some of that responsibility off of Taylor's shoulders. Our kids mimic our coach and it is pretty apparent.

Right on. It’s why painter would have taken Tayler. That’s the type of kid and personality Purdue recruits. We have just the one like that because whit doesn’t recruit that type. And it shows.
