I'll just be happy if the talent next year comes together well.
There's potentially a lot there.
Teague, Thomas, KJ, Acree, Coleman might give us as much athletic ability on a roster as we'd ever want. That could be exciting basketball.
Our new players coming on line may be the best group Whit has had.
We'll have to see how Huggins and Gunn play in another year, how freshmen can play, how key vets Mallers and Ish develop as leaders. Lots of interesting questions beyond HOF debate.

Not true always had Teague. From months ago Sweep.... Post by thebsukid on Feb 17, 2018 at 3:05pm I said early in the season that one of 3 BSU players would become BSU Hall of Famers...Teague, Amin, or Gunn....I'm liking my chances!! Teague looks unstoppable the last several games since he quit relying on the 3!!! And, our interior has been dominating lately too. And, further Sweep you said KJ would average 6...I said more than 10.....want me to post that to or do you remember....when it comes to projections or bets you can't find your ass with either hand.....I've crushed you. Dude, get a grip Teague is a fourth year junior who averages 10 pts a game for his career. He isn't a Hall of Famer. I am glad he showed up this season and is averaging 15, but give it a rest you act like he is a lottery pick.

But, nobody has been except Bonzi, and if you look back at some of those names we value, kid has a point. And we called some others HOF material.
Many did not have more than 2 great seasons, and a few have lower scoring averages than we remember. And more bad games over a career, and so on. He has a chance with a very good senior season on top of this one. If he cranks out a great game in a big MAC tourney game win, he's going to create a lot of memories.

When did we ever get out of mediocrity? These last two games reaffirmed mediocrity.

We will have whit as long as he wants to stay. And we’l win 9-11 Mac games and win 17-21 games overall every year, and we will underachieve every year, and we will go home early every year. And the administration won’t care one damn bit. Mearns is all PR and lip service and all about “inclusion” rather than real results. He’s just happy the football coach thanked the band after a cold night in the football stadium....

I think without a banner type of yr he could get fired in a clunker like Buckleys 6th year(granted some of that was injuries). Provided he doesn't get extensions for above average seaaons, which I understand he has in the past. Whitfords safe this yr since he has 3 yr left on his contract, maybe safe next, but 2020-21 after Teague, Mallers, and Walton move on he could be in trouble. Walls tend to eventually close in on a coach like they did on Billy Taylor.

JAG was tough but just didn't listen to people, always had to be right. Mearns is not always looking to brag, more honest. Don't think he isn't tough though. And he supports sports. Up to a point.
He will make smart choices and listen to his AD. And she will be tough to get the most out of what we have, and avoid stupid. Mearns won't pull a JAG Ronny Thompson.
That honest part may not make a FB fan happy...he may not spend as much as they want, and he's the kind of guy who would pull the plug or take seriously leaving the MAC. He will do best for the University, which is always less than sports fans want.

She was a blustering milksop who lacked actual confidence and sailed in whatever direction the wind was momentarily blowing.

Mentally tough people don't surround themselves with morons. Now I'll agree she was a bully, but that isn't really toughness.

JAG definitely had a pair. She was not the friendliest person on the planet, but she pushed the university (maybe not so much athletics) in a good direction. And when she wasn't pushing, she was dragging it kicking and screaming. BSU needed a good shakeup, and she definitely gave it one.
Mearns is weak. He's more concerned about feelings and being liked be the liberal elite. I am not impressed with him so far.
