On a rare visit to Indiana last year, I stopped by the baseball complex and was pretty impressed. I’m sure there are many more that are more elaborate, but I thought it was not a deterrent to recruiting. Of course I haven’t been to the others.

Not a deterrent, and certainly far better than our old ballpark, but still comes up short against the improvements many of our competitors have made.

Well that was a complete 9th inning collapse by the bullpen. So are we that bad compared to IU or do we throw out the 9th inning & say we can play with them? Our 18 strike outs was pretty good but when we give up 12 hits it appears the pitchers intent is to strike out everyone they face which is not going to be real effective in college baseball.

Iu had struck out 412 times coming in to the game. They have been taking the hit a homerun or strike out approach.

I’m not comfortable with the relief staff. We need improvement before MAC tournament time.

I’m not comfortable with the relief staff. We need improvement before MAC tournament time. Jamerson looked great, but had to be pulled to pitch against BG this week. Jaksich looked good, but I think BSU went with him too long. IU batters got comfortable with him. I got worried when Burns came in because he has struggled since surgery, but he pitched great (1H, 1ER, 6 SOs in 2-1/3 innings. Nicolas and Weatherly just weren't ready for last night in relief. Offensively, I think that we only got 2 hits after the third inning. We went cold. Bierman, IU's starter, wasn't effective when he had to worry about base runners. When we stopped putting men on, he got into a groove. We should have taken timeouts at the plate, or somehow gotten him out of rhythm. Their reliever Manous was pretty effective. We just got cold at the plate. IU is tough from the #2 through #8 lineup slots. They will pick apart pitchers not on their game.

I agree with your comment on Jakish my feeling was after he went thru the lineup once he should have been pulled. Real problem as shown in the 9th we didn't have the pitchers to throw at them as we would like. Indystar says all our pitchers threw were sliders & their coach says they know how to wait for their pitch. No mention of our 18 strikeouts against them.

I think Jacksich and Burns were exceptional against that lineup. They were off balance the entire game. Yes, Jacksich had a 2 inning rough patch, but he still put us in a position to win. We had to save pitchers for the weekend, so we had to get as much mileage out of him as possible. Nicolas is the one who laid the real terd, and Weatherly just polished it for him. Was anyone else completely annoyed by IU's bush league baserunning and their coach's ridiculous antics and whining the last inning? What an ass.

I have hope we get to play IU again in the NCAA tourney & throw our best pitchers against theirs. Their coach is in my eyes over the top.

Where has the axe grinding Northsider character been.. Did who ever he knew Graduate? If BSU loses 2 MAC series consecutively I would almost bet he will chime in on Maloney. Glad to see you guys miss me. Just got tired of about three of you hanging on Maloneys nuts no matter what happens. I said it before, he's a better then mediocre coach, but you 3 think what he did 10 - 15 years ago matters. Ball States rankings and strength of schedule are...... Rankings Rank Value RPI 120 0.5142 Non-Conf RPI 159 SOS 194 Non-Conf SOS 226 vs. RPI Teams RPI 1-25 0-1 26-50 1-4 51-100 0-2 101-200 8-5 201+ 15-3 If you didn't see it, SOS is..226. I do believe they have a chance to get in the NCAA Tourney this year. Baker, Jamieson and pray for rain, then yes they might get in because the MAC is trash this year. FYI... his contract is up in June. Rumor from the scouts I talk to is, he is going to Notre Dame next year.

So a school like Notre Dame, which has far greater resources than BSU, has a higher opinion of Maloney than you do? Is that what we should take from that?

Dropped Indiana State and extra game vs Miami of Ohio. Added Taylor, Manchester and IU/Kokomo. Get that 30 wins and that's all you guys care about. The man was the highest paid coach in the MAC until Kent States coach a couple of years ago. He's now #2. He's been beaten in the tourney by coaches making a $100,000 less, but you chumps keep buying his bs.

Manchester, Taylor, and IUK were all last minute adds due to canceled games because of rainouts. The only BS on here is from you.
