Why do our guys do stupid stuff when they get to the pros? Let’s see, remember Newsome and his pot ( wrecker his career in the NFL), remember Snead and his DUI (wrecked his career in NO), and now this. Sounds like he is gone. Yep, thought all that, too. Not so sure that I'm reading that much into their comments, you may be correct. I'd be more upset with Clevinger for not fessing up and riding the plane with the rest of the team and really jeopardizing everyone else. |

Plesac pitched to well this month not to come back. Cleveland will not cut him. If they did he could make a lot of money from other teams. What it does show is that when BSU gets professional caliber athletes they generally end up with us because they quite likely have some problems that cause the P5 schools not to want to deal with them.

I'm not sure I buy that. I'm not that close to any of the folks mentioned, but I think some don't have the skills to handle those quick burst of money and at that point they just fall into that they're above all others and that they don't have to abide by the rules. Too, they think they're just to important to worry about things like Coronavirus in this particular case. We can go back to that "if you don't take some chances" mentality, you may not be successful, but I don't think it's that they've all been high school misfits so they ended up in the MAC. |

The 10 days they must stay in the minors ends in a week. I will be surprised if Cleveland doesn't recall them then.

Plesac was definitely guilty of immature, selfish idiocy.
Clevinger, though, was guilty of all-out, unmitigated fuckery. Did he actually think they'd never find out?

Plesac got caught pretty quickly and they contracted a car and driver to take him back to Cleveland. Clevinger wasn't caught immediately, and he didn't tell anyone before he flew on the team plane back to Cleveland, so if he was Covid positive, he exposed it to the whole team. Clevinger's ignorance could have impacted the whole team by getting on that plane. |
