Well Pete is still lurking Pete never really felt strongly about having an indoor facility. He thought they might use it a handful of times. But for recruiting you gotta have it.

Project was cut back from about 22-23 $million but certainly welcomed! Isn't that the way these projects always work? If you ask for what you need, you get jack squat. If you ask for what you want, you get what you need ... well kinda. I guess the Stones had that nailed down decades ago.

Along with this news did everyone catch there a new hire in the S&C program? Was an intern through Texas & Baylor, graduated from Appalachian State. App State has been steady last few years so thinking maybe a good sign.

Isn't that an image of the Business College in '78?

All kidding aside, I am glad that now that we have emerged out of the Stone Age but will we EVER learn? For once in my lifetime I would like to see the Athletic Dept. do something PROACTIVE rather than react to every move the others in the MAC make. Let's try to be out in front and let the others react to Ball State's moves. Remember if you are not the lead dog the view NEVER changes.

Isn't that an image of the Business College in '78? Spitting image.
I remember coming to campus expecting an ivy covered hall and finding WWII barracks and Muncie Naval Armory Quonset hut instead. COB was largest college on campus, but old TC and old BSU still ruled.
JB Black got us a new building. Came in under budget. His priority was fighting a long fight to get salary budget and hiring good faculty, used his political capital on that priority. In hindsight the mistake and the University's was to build a minimal "adequate" building which was too small almost right away and has some cost saving features which will haunt us until it falls down. Looks like it will be a long time until the College has the space it needs. Very BSU.
The University has since done better building new academic facilities, but that project was a big part of moving the center of gravity of campus up McKinley beyond TC.

App State has been steady last few years so thinking maybe a good sign. Beth has been selling this as a health and safety measure and is working on another position. The physical and mental health of athletes can be ignored too easily, but it seems to have worked when the powers to be have not been sold on the obvious competitive advantage in the past.

Dave McClain used to say, ''If you play in the North Atlantic ya gotta practice in the North Atlantic"...tarheel, that pic is from the days when men were men and the women were proud of it.
