I’d look into drafting a guy 3rd round or so who just needs time, and maybe pursue someone like Rivers on a short term contract. A guy to win enough until that draftee is ready. He’s willing to make throws Brissett just won’t. Obviously depends on price tag.
Colts desperately need a pass rusher and a WR. If there’s an elite guy at either position at 13 I think they do that.

Love out of Utah State is the QB that the Colts subreddit has fallen in love with, but a more level-headed poster over there noted that there hasn't been a successful QB in the NFL who had as low a completion percentage in college as Love has had. There will be QBs to be had in almost every round. If you can identify that diamond in the rough, develop him, and give him the weapons, success can be had. Otherwise we can look to the Cleveland Browns as how best to not draft a QB. It comes down to whether or not we believe Ballard can find, and Reich can develop, the next Colts QB. Oh, God, please no. I can't imagine he'd get past the "upstanding citizen" rule the Colts have, since he was busted for possession a couple weeks ago. Being a pothead is probably why Reddit likes him, since it's populated by high school kids. And I'm not that impressed with his play against good competition. Even Plitt has a higher QBR.

I was one of those 4, but I shouldn't count, as I changed my win total vote no less than 3 times throughout the season, and that simply shouldn't count. Give us the cliffsnotes version of the book when you're done though!

Darius Leonard's first two seasons in the NFL (29 games): » 284 tackles » 12 sacks » 7 interceptions » 6 forced fumbles » 15 passes defensed
That's pretty damned impressive

Here's a decent argument for using draft picks for DEFENSE.
Still room for a developmental wish and prayer QB pick.
Mid first round often a place for D-line and WR picks, can go DB a little later. The bet has to be best player available. Although that Utah QB might be a 1st round pick, I doubt anybody elite is at 13.

Anthony Castonzo apparently "mulling" retirement. I'm tee'ing up Sherm here for a lengthy soliloquy on our past OL draft choices, but IF he chooses to step away, how much does that affect (effect? I can never remember) the Colts draft plans?

I can never remember) the Colts draft plans? Sounds like a bit of gamesmanship by his agent, to get a better new contract. He's a pretty big reason the line has been so good, but he'll be 32 at the start of next season. I expect a franchise tag.

I see that using ultra-high draft capital on interior offensive linemen has got us two interior offensive linemen in the pro bowl. That is wonderful in its wonderfulness, and I'm pretty sure that accomplishment plus $1.85 will get you a coffee at Starbucks....which can be consumed while watching these other teams in the playoffs.
