Brisset is not on a long term contract.
Before injuries the Colts were headed to playoff. Can improve with good draft.

The Colts did right by him by giving him a 2 year deal, but I think it's pretty obvious they didn't expect him to be a long-term solution.
He ranks in the high 20s and low 30s in most QB statistical categories. Sure, some is due to injuries, but as a pocket passer, that's not good.
He just hasn't shown that he's up to the task on a consistent basis.

Brissett is the kind of quarterback who can manage a game and typically won't throw it away. He's sort of Brad Johnson-esque. Unfortunately it seems unlikely he'll never have a defense around him like the 2002 Tampa Bay Bucs. Drew Brees is an all-world QB and nobody would argue that, but the defense giving up 29/30 on pass attempts is abysmal. The Tampa Two doesn't work against these kinds of QBs and when you can't stay in the game offensively it doesn't make much sense to play that kind of defense. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Colts move on from the DC this year and go for somebody more aggressive and man-oriented

Colts fans have had the luxury of a franchise qb since what, 1998? Welcome to NFL Purgatory, where your team is good enough to win some games but not bad enough to get a top draft pick.

Yes, and because of having the franchise QB in place, the colt's GM's have in effect been riding with training wheels. Now we will see the true worth of Ballard.

I like this guy's mock draft for the Colts!

Frankly, though, I am a little baffled as to how the Colts could be losing all these games when they have a vitally important offensive guard who starts fights in training camp, puts black paint on his face, has a choreographed touchdown celebration and receives hysterical praise for occasional highlight clips.
WTF?
I was under the impression the colts would be able to run at will behind this guy???

For anyone who thinks this final game is meaningless, you couldn't be more wrong!
The majority of sports books preseason/post-Luck retirement had the Colts O/u for win total at 7.5, meaning this final game will be the difference between people making and losing money. It'll be a hand-wringer!

Not to mention our forums 23 votes. With all the disappointment, they are where you might have expected.
They had such a good receiving group it seemed and high hopes for QB play and it didn't happen. Yet still about what was expected.

The colts officially need a quarterback. And wide receivers.

They looked pretty good at received early. Then it went to he'll.
A quick answer at QB that dramatically changes much in the draft at 13 seems unlikely.
