Jeff Weller is painful to listen to. He makes these cute comments when things happen and doesn't tell you what the hell actually happened. Is Joel Godett coming back to radio this year?

Well, I'm glad we didn't lose to a team called Longwood.

Cards win! Cards win ! 78-67.
Cards shot the free throws well to seal the win.

Right now we are a bunch of random guys running around with no cohesion and not much clue yet. That will improve (I hope) as the season goes on. And maybe whit is experimenting with lineups right now. But man we struggle.

Don't feel like I learned much tonight. Had a competitive game and pulled away late from the #269 team. That's pretty much where I thought we were. (Denny Green voice on) We are who I THOUGHT we were (Denny Green voice off) I think we'll eventually drift into the high 200's.
So, it's quite possible we will get through the OOC schedule 7-4. And you know that will fool some. The concept of "strength of schedule" is a little too subtle for some people to grasp. That was amply demonstrated during the Taylor years. But then unless something really clicks with this team, there will be a rude awakening come MAC time.

This win on a neutral court reflects a power rating of 72 or 73 compared to 67 for last season. The game @bradley was below par for us. The game against EKU probably a little better in some ways, but again did not show us playing well after the beginning of the game.
This game we covered the spread and did a little better. In fact, if we perform consistently at the level of this game (hardly a proven proposition) it puts us near the Central Mean of the MAC. So if you think this was a "good" game and we can't play better, maybe we are not in the middle at this point. If we are likely to play better, it is not only a lot better than losing but an indication we are on a pace to be somewhere in the middle tier of the MAC, about what we should expect this year.
Our season hinges on whether we learn to win close games, like we did not do at Peoria. Of course, I have no gripe if we overachieve and play wildly above our level in a game or two...

You are pushing that ordinal ranking a little too hard. The #269 ranking is not easy to translate at this point into expected value of the game score differential. A 10 point victory on a neutral court indicates a larger difference in rank than 60 places. Take a look at Sagarin where #260 would be rated at about 66 and 200 would be about 70. 10 points margin of victory would actually be a performance rating closer to #100 than #200. I don't think rpi or kenpom or other rankings or power ratings are at all reliable right now, so let's wait to put much on the numbers.
