Great win !!! , I hope we can get some naysayers on board now ..... OK. We are not that good. Valpo was coming off a West Coast road trip, just ranked, ripe to be beat. They are over rated a little. On the other hand, we got the job done!

We should have one by 15 but I like I said pregame I knew we would win this one lol. Well lets hope this starts an 18 game winning streak. We are long over do for some good times..

I am happy about a Cardinal win but the Crusaders are FAR from being a top twenty five team. I made that prediction on the top twenty five ranking. It goes to show you that these early rankings don't mean jack sh*t. Valpo, if they make the tournament, will be beaten in the first or second round.

Valpo 85 Ball State 56. One of the most groundless predictions in our forum's long history of groundless predictions. Thank god, we beat bsu0's spread! We've had teams recently enough, I'd have been a little worried. But, now, I think most of the naysayers will have to withdraw from the stance we are terrible, and perhaps back down a notch. Maybe join in on General's rant that we just aren't good enough. "Fire Whitford!" After all, we should be winning the MAC in the third year of a coach's tenure. We can't beat a good team with good big players who play a tough schedule. Right?

Would agree they aren't a top 25 team , but still are a very good team who won 28 games last year also won their league and their tournament that's not easy ...

Yes, Valpo has 4 starters back from last year's team that won the 28 games and they are picked to win the Horizon... Continue to put them down but look at these polls: http://www.kenpom.com....#23 espn.go.com/mens-college-basktball/rpi/ /sort rpi #1 in RPI Massey Rating...Composite has them #35 And the Espn poll has them #40 So, regardless of what poll you're looking at it would suggest Valpo was # 1-40....probably 25-30 is about right!! Of course, that changes after today.

Good to see the Cards hang on under adversity. That's hopefully a growing experience.
Still amazed to see some guys just beat up on Valpo not being a great team rather than finally just enjoying a good win. We haven't had many of late, why not enjoy it rather than discount it over and over. There will be time later to moan and grown, I'm sure.

By the way, that may have been Davis's best game overall....he penetrated and had like 6 assists...we also out rebounded a much taller team!!

Unfortunately this does need to be tempered just a little bit because Valpo did not have their second leading scorer Tevonn Walker playing today. Still there are many positives. We had a chance to let this one get away down the stretch but hung tough and pulled through. That's what we need to do to develop an culture of winning. It was a very nice win. It was nice to feel some excitement in Worthen again. Hopefully the Cards can keep things rolling and then when the students get back we can get games feeling like Ball State games are supposed to feel like again.

I'm beyond thrilled. Hell I don't care if Valpo had to travel from Mars this morning. We beat a legitimate team. Let's enjoy it and then hope our guys can build on this and sustain it!

I've now seen 3 BSU games this season as well as a bunch of games from the "Power 5". My question is are the officials working under 2 sets of rules? It seems as if the Power 5-Junior NBA games have not changed as far as body contact, muggings & the usual mayhem that is allowed compared to the ticky-tacky stuff being called at the lower mid-major level-or am I just being delusional?

I'm not going to get too excited about this because chances are we'll probably drop a deuce against New Orleans, IUPUI or Alabama A&M, but it's encouraging.
