It’s been apparent that MAC officials have off-season meetings to strategize on how they can give the advantage to all the teams that play Ball State.
It’s time the league steps in and puts a stop to these shenanigans. It’s costing us multiple championships.

I didn’t notice bad officiating, just domination from Akron. They are clearly on another level. We don’t really have a chance against them if we see them in Cleveland. I couldn't agree more. Officiating was not the problem at all. However, I do not agree that we do not have a chance in Cleveland. It’s another day and a new game.

Of course we have a chance, if we get there. But to be a championship team, these are the ingredients I believe you must possess:
1.). A dominant guard, preferable a senior, with lots of will and grit and savvy. Two is even better. 2.). A game-changing big man who can play inside or out. Again with the will and dominance that forces your opponent to game plan against you. 3.). A senior class that is cocky, has swagger and eventually bends you to their will. 4.). A cast of reserves who could start elsewhere and carry that same swagger and will as the starters. They kick your benches ass. 5,). Lastly, and perhaps most important, a crafty coach who out schemes his counterpart and motivates his charges to execute their game plan and exert their will on the opponent.
We have a couple of these, potentially. Ish and Teague could fit the bill with a supporting cast as described. But number 4 and especially 5? Yeah that’s not happening.

I love that team too. If we had all that we'd be a top 30 team. Maybe better.
The great BSU teams we talk about didn't check off all of that! Combine our best memories of 5 or 6, we get it.
We can have a championship with less.

We can have a championship with less. That’s Buffalo last year you apologist. I will never apologize for BSU teams who play hard and represent the school well in many ways, especially in this context a team that can fight for the championship even if they might not be dominant in many ways, certainly not in every area you list.
I thought your handle was all about reality. Sure, we all want fantasy dream teams, and we are all fanatic about wanting BSU to win. Hard to always 100% support the team fanatically when they crash and burn. Nobody can do that. But.
I believe Kid has been talking about what he, and I, see as some allowing the discussion to always become about our not living the the dream and not doing this or that we want, with the fanaticism slipping into fanatically criticizing BSU teams instead of supporting them, fanatically criticizing our coaches and players and their achievements that don't match the fantasy.

Well, it is certainly true that two Mac tourney wins in six years does not "match the fantasy".

No home court and no Walton hurts! We played better in the first half but no flow in second half Akron played like crap and was still only down 3 at half. Even the TV guys pointed that out. Home court would make little difference tonight. Not would Walton. Unless you think ONE guy coming off the bench makes ‘’that’ much difference. Their coach obviously got something done at halftime that ours didn’t. Yep. In 1st half, we shot 39% from field (a big majority were layup in the paint), to their 30%. We shot a crappy 22% from 3-PT range, to their 20%. We did shoot 80% from free throw, but were only on the line 5 times. They were 7 of 8. We turned it over 8 times to their 9. The 1st half was our best and it sucked, but they sucked a bit more. On the road, you gotta leverage their poor play. We shot 42% in 2nd (38% from 3PT). They shot 63% (55% from 3PT). Free throws, BSU was 3 of 9 in 2nd, Akron 9 of 10. BSU only had 3 TOs in 2nd to 10 by Akron. Loren Jackson (#1) really ignited Akron coming out of the half. Plays some tight D. BSU appears to stand around way too much on offense. No movement = simple to defend. Would've like to have been a "fly on the wall" in the Akron locker room at half to see how Groce motivates his teams. On a side note, the NCAA not allow any school to call their arena "The Jar" unless it's Ball State or George Mason.

We look tired in the second half. No bench depth, only have 8 players who are good enough to see the court. Our 2nd half shots were short, like we didn't have any legs under us.

What's with Bertha Ball getting her knickers in a bunch? She had no game when she was in school! She couldn't even hang at a Hairy Buffalo party.

00hmh...Wow, you are so off the mark; we should constantly criticize our players and coaches particularly Whit! Heck, Whit has never recruited a top player and he should stop recruiting Indiana and how dare him recruit anymore Indiana All Stars!
He and his staff are slackers and are always taking time off! Our players are not disciplined on or off the court! Our Players have poor grades and don’t graduate it’s simply a mess!
And, are most recent incoming class is so weak although some services picked as best in the MAC!
We never recruit a good post player albeit Moses was better than average and and while Teague is playing out of position he may very well be First Team All MAC!
We never ever do well against the East even though we ran Buffalo off the Court!
KJ and home court meant nothing and as Reality said how could a career 8 point average and a couple of rebounds per game mean anything? No way could KJ make up the difference even though his most recent performances would indicate double figures plus 6-7 rebounds plus a steal or two and who cares if possibly he’s one of our better on ball defenders do to his athleticism and never mind that he is a senior and might just bring some confidence to the rest of the team! Add that to home court and no possibility against Akron. Hell none of that counts you moron it’s just his career average of points and rebounds that count. And, the athletic department is totally F up, who cares if we’re near the top in MAC attendance. Well I might finally concede we could win the West but we definitely have no chance on a neutral floor in Cleveland .
Damn are we bad, and how dare any of you view it differently
