Kj what.. Got redshirt. Did not get redshirt. Decided he wants to play. Until he is out there I dont even know what the point of continuing to bring him up is.

Since you did bring him up though let's hash this one out.. Let's say he has been sitting waiting to hear about a redshirt. Let's say he really is part of the reason we have been struggling. Let's say he gets the word a redshirt is not happening. So he decides to play out the string. How are we going to view him? Are we going to be oh awesome he is back or are we going to be like gee thanks for missing the last 15 games

At minimum I can’t see him suddenly stepping on the court tomorrow and being able to guard German after missing all this time.

Rob your post said who is going to guard him....my point whether he plays or not is that our best chance would be with KJ who is our best on ball defender...but reality is we'll likely go with Bum and Josh.

You say this a lot, but I completely disagree. KJ is not our best on-ball defender. In fact, I'd go as far to say he's not really a very good defender at all. He has the physical talents to be, but they've never really shown themselves defensively. Thompson is our best on-ball defender by far. The fact that KJ hasn't played a lot, yet this is Whit's best defensive team (statistically anyway) says a lot.

Its not what the Coaches or players think, but you are entitled to your opinion. KJ is so athletic that he can make a mistake and make up for it...he's not only a very good defender but the best guard rebounder on our team.

KJ is so athletic that he can make a mistake and make up for it...he's not only a very good defender but the best guard rebounder on our team. Potential and athletic capabilities are not the same as performance. I've never seen him be a consistently good defender, let alone a lock-down defender.

saw somebody mention a possible Walton redshirt. Hasn't he already played in too many games?

Rob in fairness KJ played just 4 weeks ago which is not forever, and my point is simply he would help on Defense. And, as a matter of fact, I expect him to play tonight or Saturday.
Also, KJ is not only in my view a good defender but conveniently some are forgetting he may very well be the best defensive rebounder on the team unless we want to not count that piece.

Also, KJ is not only in my view a good defender but conveniently some are forgetting he may very well be the best defensive rebounder on the team unless we want to not count that piece. He has missed the last 13 games.. He has played in 10 which puts him right on the line as far as games played. Everything I've read said its 9 games but there are loopholes around everything. Id guess if he plays tonight or even saturday word has came across that a redshirt is not happening. The other scenario would of course be KJ has chosen not to pursue the redshirt and just finish out the string KJ has aspirations of playing some kind of professional ball. It could be his thought process is that it would behoove him to play an entire injury free season at hopefully 100% instead of trying to play this season at 85 to 90%. He has been well enough to play for a long time
