You really think there is a city out there that provides services without taxes? Nice straw man defense. Good to see you haven't changed. So what was your point above to which I responded anyway? Help me understand?

That's being awfully cautious.
They are a bit partisan to start with.
Predicting Pa. is a consensus. That's the odd one.

OK. What's the deal with Trump and transition? If he wants to fight in court, that's part of the system. But locking the Biden transition out of the building is separate question. Why not proceed with a transition? If the courts rule in his favor, no harm. If courts do not rule that way, this cripples the national government that has to function well January 21. At least let defense, FBI, homeland security, treasury and important agencies be ready to function? It's hard to transition. How many states have assembled their electoral representatives? How many of those reps have cast their electoral vote? Also, after the 2000 election, it took about 37 days to determine the presidential winner? Did the Clinton Administration start transition to the Bush Administration during those 37 days?

Sorry that doesn't meet your schedule.

I think Trump knows it's a longshot for him to win, but I think he's trying to shine a light on how lax Democrat voting policies leads to fraudulent votes.
Doing a pretty damn good job of it too. But Democrats have long ignored dead people casting ballots, illegal immigrants voting, and other improprieties. If CNN doesn't report it, it must not exist.

Sorry that doesn't meet your schedule. 2000 was not in health crisis. And the national security delay may have been part of the problem which allowed 9/11 to occur. Two wrongs don't make a right. It also was limited to one lawsuit resolved in 37 days, no threatened delay like this one. Notice also Gore gracefully and tactfully handled his complaint, no allegation the system itself was somehow riddled with fraud and corrupt.

Since the president almost had the 2016 election "stolen" from him, you'd think he might have made that a priority before the 2020 election.
You know, maybe make election reform part of his agenda at some point during the past 4 years.
But the trouble with fixing things is that you then don't have anybody else to blame when shit goes wrong.
It's kinda like the nation's supply of PPE. The president could have remedied that at any point during his first 3 years in office. But then when a pandemic hit, he wouldn't have been able to blame the previous administration.
When your goal is to avoid responsibility for anything that goes wrong, it's best to have a lot of scapegoats hanging around.

You really think that is a problem today? After GOP study in Congress and numerous academic studies, there is no evidence of modern widespread voter fraud. And in more than enough states GOP controlled the election process. It is true that there is some history of election fraud, and resulting process created to stop it, but no doubt some small amount and some outright bonehead error exists on rare occasion. No evidence either party immune. If you want a history lesson, it is much more well proven that Southern states have suppressed Black vote. Neither side therefore holds the high ground in history. Elections today are very much free of most procedural problems. I don't see a way to look at this without concluding GOP election strategy depends on preventing many from voting to prevent very small numbers of alleged questionable votes.

Isn't slow Joe just going to scrap all of Trump's COVID task force anyway, well that is unless one of them happens to be a lesbian eskimo with a disability. 9/11 had nothing to do with the 2000 transition of power, where do you come-up with this garbage ? "Notice also Gore gracefully and tactfully handled his complaint, no allegation the system itself was somehow riddled with fraud and corrupt." ///// No he just sued Florida demanding they only recount certain districts (handpicked by his lackeys) instead of conducting a statewide count as mandated by state law. Gore was on television everyday whining about votes not being counted, voters being illegally suppressed, and the poll workers being Republicans. How stupid do you think people on this forum are ?

Consider this problem. Assuming there is danger of fraud in elections, how signicant is that level? Is it worth it to improve from where we are to a little more perfect if as you get more perfect you make it so difficult to vote that you take away chance to vote by many many legitimate voters?
We'll never have a perfect system.

I think Trump knows it's a longshot for him to win, but I think he's trying to shine a light on how lax Democrat voting policies leads to fraudulent votes. I hope you are right and Trump is just lying and not deluded about having won the election. He is President and needs to make important decisions after all.
He's not saying "this is close, I have to contest it," he's saying he definitely won and it's a fraud. It might be too much to expect him to be Presidential, I understand, but still, he risks doing substantial harm to our system if leaves on that note.
If there are some fraudulent votes out there, I would not be surprised. Probably some for Trump as well as for Biden. But widespread fraud, enough to turn the election seems very very very doubtful. Systematic fraud even more doubtful.
Recount and court cases are part of the system. So have at that. But so far the Trump legal effort for the most part has been a clown car with Rudy being the first clown tumbling out of the car.

Not if we don't insist on it, which is what Trump is doing. Of course, you think requiring ID is making it too difficult to vote.
