I'm all for responding with funny memes, but what about what I said was snobbery? That the common man cannot understand the nuances of soccer fully, unless you have experienced every level of the sport. I didn't say he didn't understand the nuances. What I was saying is if you're watching bad soccer of course it will be boring. But as an American it's difficult to get invested in the best soccer because we cannot relate to the top leagues. Do you find middle school football equally as entertaining as the NFL? If not, aren't you a football snob? EDIT: Another analogy. If the only beer you ever tasted was Keystone Ice and you said you tried beer and didn't like it, then someone came along and suggested you try Bud Light, the #1 selling beer in the US, would you just write them off as a beer snob?

Yeah, the flopping makes a game that's already boring impossible to watch.

This is why wokesterism keeps getting progressively stupider and stupider. Being sheltered from criticism seems nice, but eventually it makes you a mess.

I am not clear why you are so absolutely sure there is a political component that drives this sports decision.
It's pretty logical they might need a kicker and go to a soccer athlete who qualifies under Covid protocol.
A new coach has kept her on the roster. It's not crazy. And. They are looking at logical alternatives.
"Woke" is not the only thing going on here. If it's a good story that gets attention, so what? Nobody is saying this girl is Jackie Robinson, or Jesse Owens.
That's in your mind.

Google "Sarah Fuller historic" and take a look at the results from some of the largest media sources in the world.
Then STFU.

I missed the part where anyone said the girl had achieved any actual sports feat worth mentioning.
That she played in a game is history, so what?
An interesting triviality. Like ND making a fuss over their Rudy, except maybe in that case they probably had less actual need for him to make an appearance.
This is fluff and human interest, not of any great significance.

So why the hostility? This is no big deal.

Their game against Georgia was cancelled because too many players quit. Maybe don't have a walk-on kicker chew out the team at halftime. Lol

Like ND making a fuss over their Rudy, except maybe in that case they probably had less actual need for him to make an appearance. This is fluff and human interest, not of any great significance. Meanwhile, a week later there is an obscure publication called the New York Times still pumping hype into this ridiculous stunt. " Though she’d been practicing with the football team for less than a week, she knew exactly what she was doing: “Let’s make history,” she tweeted before the game." Etc. etc. Vanderbilit, by the way, has a pretty good punter, currently ranking 5th in the SEC. My guess is that the punter can out-kickoff the chick by a good 20 yards if not more. Also, nobody would have to go to any trouble to make sure the punter doesn't get involved in an actual football play. But then how many stories in the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, NPR, ESPN, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN with the word "historic" in the headline are you going to get by having your punter kick off to the goal line? From the NY Times: I thought of the faith the Commodores had put in her — not because a woman had never played college football at that level before, but because Vanderbilt desperately needed a kicker, and Sarah Fuller can kick the holy hell out of a ball. Not so clear why someone who can "kick the holy hell out of the ball" is called upon to make an odd bloop kick that hands the opponent good field position.
