What's the over/under on how many male Vanderbilt students would have beat her in an open try-out situation? Over a hundred I would bet. Ex HS kickers, ex-soccer players, all-around good athletes.
I've seen it said she can hit 38 yard field goals. My son, a soccer player, was able to do that in high school. The FB teams actual place kicker was better, as were some of his soccer teammates.
This just goes to show how stupid of a story will be pushed by the media if it furthers the woke narrative. This chick didn't "overcome" anything at all....instead she was handed an opportunity that any number of males deserved more.

Totally agree Sherm. I was more embarrassed for her than anything. She was lucky they didn’t have a chance at an extra point, because I doubt she would get it over the OLine. Nothing against her, but I think it was a dumb publicity stunt for an awful football team.

It's not clear what she was trying to do with that kick. Too far for an on-side kick, not far enough for a pooch kick. I'm curious what precautions they took to keep her from getting blasted by a blocker in the event that an actual football play had happened.
It's funny how often media stories that are supposed to refute genetic and social reality instead actually demonstrate how strong those realities are.

With girls being as strong, courageous, empowered and deserving of opportunity as they are, Vandy should have used one as a kick returner, rather than a kicker.

Seems like the publicity stunt was a failure as Vandy's coach was fired today. Football boosters are apparently not as impressed by virtue signaling as is the national media. For the boosters 0-8 is still 0-8, no matter how many chicks you put on the field.

Yes, but will it still be considered a failure when the chick brings home three ESPYs ?

And Fuller was named the SEC Special Teams POTW.
For 1 squib kick.
I don't have the stats in front of me, but nobody returned a punt/kickoff for a TD? Nobody kicked multiple field goals? Nobody kicked a GW field goal?
It's hard to make the SEC a laughingstock in football, but they found a way.

Well the award is for her "courage" you know.
As if we didn't know for an absolute certainty all along that she was going to receive a fawning tongue bath from the media. I would say that loving attention was more of a necessary quality than courage.
Supposedly girls around the country are encouraged by this. But not all girls are stupid and/or ignorant of biological realities. Those sharp enough to see through this charade are more likely feeling patronized and embarrassed.

Yeah, because the best way to shut down a "publicity stunt" is to fan its flames on the internet
And don't look now, some of you are so bent out of shape over it, or more likely the dreaded "fake news media" running with it, that this thread is approaching two pages... that's more than some BSU news receives here.
Look, it's really more of a footnote than a milestone, but if some of you, Vandy, the NCAA, hell even the freaking SEC want to make a big deal of it, knock yourselves out.

Vanderbilt needed a kicker. One who had met Covid restrictions as she had as an in season athlete.
No reason to assume they had a better choice considering everything.
And if Vanderbilt ever scores a TD maybe we'll see if she can hit an extra point.
