You are refusing to assign responsibility to the President planning an event to produce "wild things" and failing to plan security, even encouraging the march on the Capitol. True or false? Isn't the mayor in charge of security at the Capitol? It was not Capitol police alone who defended our leader's Bible walk. No doubt plenty of things they might have done better.

Capital police have ultimate jurisdiction no one else can intervene unless asked

It's pretty aggravating to see yahoos running around the capitol building, but for this whole thing to be as aggravating as the bullshit this summer, it would have to happen multiple days with the political leadership refusing to allow the police to stop it, and maybe some burning and looting thrown in.

Capital police have ultimate jurisdiction no one else can intervene unless asked Whatever their responsibility, the rally created the danger. I cannot accept that the President is absolved of responsibility because the Capitol Police should take the rap here. The President has authority and responsibility to protect the government, and duty to act responsibly.

Everyone I've talked too except those wearing tinfoil hats and the far right militia type have all agreed Trump has list all respect from normal people with his actions during the last month

Of course the President could have changed all this chain of command and restriction on calling the guard, or planned in advance to do so earlier than after he encouraged the crowd to march, but only if he wanted armed force there restraining his rally participants.

Can we now ban all political posts? We have more important things to bitch about! Firing our basketball coach. We need some normalcy around here. Lol Normalcy we all would welcome. In every way.
Even in normal times avoiding politics is hard on a message board.
I once helped run a much larger fan forum and the forum cops created a section just for politics and non sports discussion. Called it the "Water Cooler" and deleted or sanctioned posts that weren't hardcore sports unless they were posted there.
Trying to avoid it completely isn't a bad idea. In normal times...
But this past year has been extraordinary. Not only the Covid events which went from public health issues to political, not only an election that would not end, but now in 2021 one of the three branches of the federal government has just incited an armed attack against another branch.
Hard to imagine no comment on all of that turmoil, especially when a mob laid siege to, invaded, and occupied the Capitol building, some armed, some just lunatics subjecting members of both chambers of Congress to intimidation and violence in an effort to produce a particular decision by force.
