I totally 100% agree with Cardfan's post....I do believe we may be bringing in our best crop of Freshman and transfers in Whit's tenure but unless it translates into a Championship or at least a deep run I'm ready to move on... I don't know if it is the best group, but transfers look solid and freshmen could all be good players. This is also the most talent we have lost, though, and even if the recruits and transfers are good, in the best case it will take some time to tell where we are.
I also hope the addition of the new assistants helps as well. Could be one of the best groups of coaches as well. Lots of head coaching experience. Mixed bag, but could be a good coaching bench as well.

More often than not a struggling coach does not get to see the fruits of his labor.

4 years eligibility is the sum of a "lucky" Covid year, a red shirt year, and prep school, adding up to 3 years of coaching since we recruited him.
Bigger, stronger, better shooter, experience guarding college players in good competition.
Recruiting the portal has some advantages.

better shooter..............
154 from three and 375 from the free throw line. How bad was he before those three extra years of coaching ?

At least now he has a nickname: Mickey "Too Talented" Pearson, he'll fit right in with Kani "Best Recruit Ever" Acree.

At least now he has a nickname: Mickey "Too Talented" Pearson, he'll fit right in with Kani "Best Recruit Ever" Acree. Granted you get pleasure from name calling and mocking players, coaches and others who disagree. Granted, you would perhaps even be upset and disappointed if he was a good player. Granted you don't seem to realize your track record dissing recruits is poor. But, here you are going after this kid. Do you really disagree with signing this kid and seeing quite a bit of upside?
Objectively, by about any measure, this would have been a good recruit out of HS. Good size, athletic, recruited by enough other schools like BSU for his recruitment to be validated. He goes to prep school and does well enough to be recruited at TCU in the B12. A good recruit that year, I would conclude.
He actually plays and even starts a game after a red shirt year. No break out year, sure, but no red flags, no discipline problems. Watching his video he is athletic and has a decent looking shooting form, isn't shy from contact or averse to defending.
Now by an unusual set of circumstances we can sign him with 4 years eligibility.
Why exactly are you so down on his talent and potential?

I think the better question is why do you believe he can shoot ?

I think the better question is why do you believe he can shoot ? Didn't expect an answer. Oh I am sorry, it likely has something to do with the fact he is 21 years old, graduated high school in 2018 and still hasn't produced. I am a little unclear why you find that to be a positive indication regarding his future prospects.

I would say that our current head coach has a history of recruiting mediocre MAC talent and what makes us believe this kid will be any different? Whitford’s body of work does not scream good talent evaluator. Just sayin!

Whitford’s body of work does not scream good talent evaluator. Just sayin! Do you actually agree we should not sign him? That he was not a good recruit out of HS and Prep school? Other than doubting Whitford, do you have a reason? You have a trained eye and good judgment. But, I certainly hope you'd not make the mistake of trusting halftimes talent evaluation without independent reason. He has regularly classified players as failures with no way to contribute who proved themselves as MAC talent.
