They have a better deal working together on their new deal with each other. No they don't, you think Kansas and OK State are better off in the BIG12 than the ACC or Big10. Are you smoking dope ? You think people in Houston are going to flock to see Iowa State or Kansas ? The best of what's left in the Big12 want out, they know this is no longer a Power Conference. Reading comprehension problem again? I said the B12 is better for those AAC schools and the B12 schools who might want to leave right now have little choice except B10 or PAC10. Those conferences aren't looking at expansion and are working on their new deal. The new B12 not a best case, it's the best they can do now. It's a good deal for the AAC teams though. Should hold together for a while.

Notre Dame is the linchpin holding a lot of dominoes back....The MAC should invite Liberty and Army. Why would they join the MAC? Being an independent is difficult for scheduling, plus you never get to play for a championship. If you mean that they should think the MAC is beneath them, that's your problem.

The MAC should invite Liberty and Army. We all know guys like Mearns will never invite Liberty to join the MAC. Unfortunately, religious bigotry is pretty common among university administrators.

I don't think the AAC wants them. Not big enough markets, except Army has a good following.
I just think it would be awesome to have Army in the conference.

I think the term "P5" becomes out of date. A rump B12 of leftovers and scraped together wannabes can no longer be considered in the same class as the other 4. Not even close.

Those teams the B12 added aren't chump change.
They gut the AAC, create distance between B12 and G5.
I don't argue that the B12 hasn't declined a notch. But. The P5 hasn't been 5 equals for some time.
Those 4 were G5 members who were outliers. Good case for them to move up in class.

UCF, Houston and Cincinnati have all elevated their athletic programs to be "P5 competitive." They are the reason the AAC was trying to get branded as the "P6" conference. Without them, at an aggregate level, the AAC is at the same level as C-USA and MWC. They may try to cherry pick the best from C-USA and MWC, but I do not see the value in joining the AAC if you are a G5 school Some SunBelt teams may see it as a plus to jump to the AAC. We'll see.

Belmont is leaving the OVC for the Missouri Valley. My guess is they are building their program with an eventual goal of the Big East. They have rocketed right by us.

AAC is trying to pull Air Force and Colorado State away from MWC. With Navy and Army in the AAC, it may pull Army into the conference.
SDSU and Boise State lose interest in the AAC. I think they may be working for PAC12 entry.

They seem to think CUSA will pillage the Sun Belt, but I don't see that as a step up. If CUSA disbands, the MAC should look at Marshall, WKU, Old Dominion and MTSU. LouTech, UTEP to Mountain West, and FIU and So Miss to Sun Belt.
