Good luck. Iowa likely won't go along with that.

Good luck. Iowa likely won't go along with that. I think they will. It's Iowa's biggest rival. Iowa State will have to commit to upgrade facilities. They lag behind most of the Big 12.

Okay so now when does Clemson start looking for a new home. They are pretty much carrying ACC football on their backs.
If you are in the AAC why would you even look at the Big 12 ?
As it looks today we are down to four power conferences, but are all four of those even legit at this point ? I would say no.
Just some random thoughts.

I am not sure they want Iowa State, but they need to appear active and engaged hoping someone more attractive suddenly wants to make a deal. Right now this is like sitting in the middle of a hurricane and trying to predict where the debris will land. There are no wrong opinions at this point.

I think it'll be a lot harder for ACC teams to leave than it was for UT/OU. The ACC conference rights extend through 2035-36. Stack that on top of the $50mm ACC exit fee and the cost might be too much for any team, even Clemson, to absorb in the near future. But who knows.

Ball State is ranked #5 in the pre-season football polls. Iowa State is a better move than Rutgers. The New York TV market watches Notre Dame and Syracuse. New Jersey watches Rutgers. You don't necessarily get the New York TV market with Rutgers. Iowa and Iowa State are pretty much Chicago kids and some choice players from other parts of the Midwest and South. Better match-up.

You don't necessarily get the New York TV market with Rutgers. But you get carriage on the NY cable systems, which is the whole point. BTN gets a couple bucks per subscriber, last time I checked, and when you multiply that by a few million households in metro NY, that's several mill per month. They don't care if anyone is watching, just that it's on the cable system.

Oklahoma State makes a lot more sense than USC. Grab them with Kansas, and that's a pretty solid West division.
