We had a couple of players who looked like they were not issued the same uniforms. Cochran and the 1965 look probably threw off our whole game.
Had to use our limited budget to buy enough basketballs?

Man, I hate to be this way, but, our look is really sloppy overall. Can we not LOOK like D 1 basketball team? Some of those guys look like they're playing pickup ball at the YMCA.

Last night was not a make or break game....BUT
It was not very encouraging either. Sparks is by far our best post guy followed by Thomas. Problem is Sparks is gonna be a freshman lots of his minutes and once he starts facing real D-1 upperclassmen he will get some schooling. Thomas hit the glass well but took a crap ton of threes and missed most of them. He also got heated at the end of the game and when M Tech was celebrating winning the game he wanted to throw down. Whitford grabbed him and made him get in the congrats shake line but that kid is a ticking time bomb. Never know when he's gonna lose it and get a Tee.
Pearson was largely unimpressive. I can see why he is so well traveled.
The two transfer guards will be fine and keep us competitive. The kid from northern is a little bit Persons and a little bit El Amin. The St. Louis kid is also a legit D-1 player.
Basheer looked a little lost. He's much bigger than I realized but was pretty wide eyed. It's his first college game but he could use some seasoning.
Sellers the other freshman is super athletic and a little out of control but he reminds me (gulp) of a bigger Jeremy Tyler. Can shoot the three, jumps out of the gym and can drive/finish. He has huge potential, IMO.
Windham was meh. Bumbalough made some plays at the end but was mostly ineffective for the first 30 minutes. I honestly don't understand what he is supposed to be doing. He still can't hit the three consistently and he's not a creator.
Huggie, Hendricks, Jones and Acree did not play. Not sure what that means as I'm sure at least one is probably injured.
So all in all, we looked like a team with a bunch of new guys and some OK returning guys. Good news is we have plenty to work on in practice now that we've been pantsed by a D2 team from the You Pee.

I'll agree with you that Windham looked better than last year's windham Yep, totally agree with both of you on Windham. Had the same feeling after the scrimmage. He just seemed to really improve over the summer. Last year I thought he was a waste, but not nearly that same feeling this year, at least early. |

By the way, Thomas had 10 boards last night!
Sparks is going to be a good one! And, Sellers in my view will be All MAC before he’s done.
This team has a lot of athletes but can someone Coach them to their potential???

The sellers Tyler comparism is really good. I'd add Sellers is much more raw than Tyler was but he is damn good you can just tell he is different. Now let's hope his love of Basketball is stronger than his love of weed
