Stetson upset Lipscomb in overtime today and Brown finished with 11 points and is Stetson’s leading scorer this season. Lipscomb was coming off a road win at Louisville and entered the ASUN opener at 8-5. Stetson improves to 6-6 after playing 9 games on the road. Jalen Blackman from Marion is playing well and he and Brown share the 2 guard position. Both played 20-25 minutes today. At times the Hatters run a 3 guard offense and did most of the second half and it was very effective. Michael Lewis worked hard to get Blackman to BSU and he would have been a nice addition to our backcourt. Shooting 95% from the foul line and can score from the perimeter and driving to the basket. Yes and Blackman hit the 3 as time expired in regulation to send it into overtime. This is an upset as Lipscomb has a decent team and had the game won at Norte Dame and ND hit the game winner as time expired. I was wondering if Lewis was recruiting Blackman bc he can light it up from outside and is automatic at the foul line shoots like 94%.

You guys will be SHOCKED to hear that the Hartford Mafia is not entirely pleased with how the Stetson coach is using Luke Brown.
Example
That game was frustrating to watch and I bet Luke was as frustrated, too. Until the coach realizes that his offense is nothing more than a backyard pick up game they will struggle. Stagnant ball movement and lack of teamwork is not how you win games. Putting the top 3 point percentage shooter in the nation in the corner with no room is an awful decision by the coach. Opposing coaches have put a player face guarding Luke with the out of bounds on two sides working like as 3 man trap. Plus having a having a point guard who thinks he’s a shoot guard doesn’t help either. It’s time to start coaching and projecting teamwork over individual play. Understand your strengths and weaknesses and Coach. From a frustrated fan of the game and a Social Media coach … what’s your opinion?

Pretty clear why Lewis didn’t try to keep him.

Watched the 2nd half of their game against Queens today. Luke was off, but checking the Mafia, it was the coaches fault. Really glad he isn't a Cardinal.

So Luke Brown achieved local legend status around here, goes down to a fairly obscure school in the interior of Florida and shoots 48% three's, which, whatever else you want to say, is extraordinarily good three point shooting.
BUT, he is neither that school's best three point shooter, nor is he their best player from East Central Indiana. Life is funny sometimes.
