Guys I realize that there is a lot of euphoria right now but we need to reflect on the wisdom of one of our most prolific posters. He has reminded us year after year that trying to find a new coach is risky, this job is not very desirable, we can't pay well enough, no guarantee we'll be any better off, fans won't come back, basketball isn't that important in our town anymore, we don't have any money, the admin won't support it, and we are better off just enjoying whatever result comes along. (Disclaimer: these may not be exact quotes but they're pretty f*#king close). So before you get too excited just remember the MAC titles and NCAA appearances never really happened and we never dominated the league so don't expect anything resembling that. Good news for Coach Lewis...you've got at least one fan who will give you a ten year window to build this back up. As has been explained to us so often, and at such great length, we are asking for a lot of trouble after the rash, impatient move of firing Whitford after such a short time, and when he has such wonderful excuses.

Clearly if Whitford was paid more he would of led Ball State to the promised land of 68 multiple teams. Money solves everything. That's the ticket.

It has been several years since I've been this excited about Ball State basketball. Watching the tournament on TV reminded me how bad we had become.

There was a story in there that Lewis told about a conversation with Knight where Knight basically told him if he wanted to play he wasn't going to get PT by shooting the ball. He was going to get PT by playing tough, hard-nosed ball, being a leader and getting the ball where it needed to go. I'm thinking there are a couple of people on our current roster who might benefit from a similar conversation.

First post on the board. Good videos of Coach Lewis from a couple of months ago with A.J. Guyton. Mike fit very well, did a great job of anticipating the shooter getting open and delivering the ball on the money. Did not depend on drive and dish where he had to be a great threat to score and get a double team.
If you look at those old games you don't find the primary ball handler spending as much time dribbling around or using ball screens. Very rarely. Mike would get it up court, pass to get the defense to move, expect to get it back, and to keep moving the ball with the pass, until there was a quick look for the cutter who was working to get open off a screen. A beautiful offense back in the day!

I dont think you’re supposed to get out of your car on the interstate. Yeah, you can't recruit from jail very well.

Wonder if the football fans are getting a PJ Fleck vibe here. That guy traumatized them for life.

This picture and the one from the Indianapolis airport are more PR than Whitford did in nine years.
