Hawaii has not lost a home match in 2 years. Didn't we beat Hawaii *twice* this year, on their home court? No, they played here

The stage is set! The defending MIVA tournament champion Lewis Flyers, coning off an epic comeback victory over 3-time national champion Ohio State, will invade Worthen Arena tonight at 7:00 to battle the MIVA league champion Ball State Cardinals. A huge crowd is expected to rock Worthen and watch these two heavyweights fight it out for the right to play in the MIVA championship match Saturday night. BSU is 21-3 on the season and ranked 5th/7th in the two respective national polls. Only Penn State 23-3 has a better record. UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and will host the NCAA tournament. Lewis swept the Bruins earlier in the season at UCLA. Tonight’s match will be a classic!

Lewis held it close the first set but was never really in it after that. If Ball State plays like that consistently they're going to be a real tough team

Talked to my friend who went to the first final 4 with BSU. His take was we looked pretty good at times and appeared lost at others. I think the match was too easy and they relaxed and got sloppy. They should be locked in for the final. IPFW up one set. Losing in second set.

Lewis really fell apart in set 2 and 3. Sloppy? We had nine service errors. Our blocking was really good 19. Announcer said most times it takes 5 sets to reach 19. One of our players had two errors in a row. He had not played in 10 days but came back later with some nice plays. Anybody in the MIVA could have won this tourney. If we play like we did tonight we can win. If we do we could make some noise in the NCAA.

My guy did say 19 was really good for 3 sets. Just noticed we lost focus for a while. I like the match up for Saturday.

After a nip and tuck first set that BSU won 25-23, BSU dominated a Lewis team that has the Cardinals have not beaten in the MIVA tournament in years! One thing we know for sure, Ball State is always tough to beat in Worthen Arena, especially when big crowds are there rocking Worthen like they did tonight and have done all season. If this was a home basketball game, BSU would have reported the crowd around 2500 or more. Whatever it was, it sounded like a crowd of 5000, even without the Code Red Dancers, cheerleaders nor BSU pep band. The fans raise the roof on their own which makes it so unique! It’s amazing how little BSU does to promote their most successful sports in men’s and women’s volleyball while women’s and men’s basketball have all the bells and whistles with hardly any attendance from the student body and very average attendance from the Muncie community, particularly women’s basketball.
