We all know the Colts will trade back, draft Hendon Hooker in the second round, and start Sammy E until Hooker has recovered from his exploded leg

The revelation that Jalen Carter is a complete dumbass could have a dramatic effect on the colts draft through its influence on the Bears behavior.

Yep, that Bears trade with Caroline has screwed the Colts big time. Should have made a deal with the Bears for that #1 pick, but maybe the Colts just couldn't match the D.J. Moore component of Carolina's offer? Moore will go a long way in making Fields a legitimate passing QB.

Or maybe the worst passer in the league is just...you know...bad at passing?

So essentially Stroud and Young are out of the picture. I was really hoping they landed Stroud. Not sure how I feel about Levis and Richardson. They may have more talent, but they haven't proven it on the field. If they aren't sold on those two they should trade for Lamar or just draft Hooker later.

Or maybe the worst passer in the league is just...you know...bad at passing? Maybe. But a good receiver will improve the results which reflect the passing offense, not just the passer. And if he's not very good, surely da Bears coaches might have been able to tell from hundreds of reps in practice? Or, maybe none of these QBs impressed the coaches as all that much better? Granted the Alabama guy is likely at least mediocre, the others with really high ceiling have low floor. Bears got a lot in that thread.

There is a notable compulsion to make excuses for Fields and not only among Bears fans. I think we all know why that is. The Bears go a lot of favorable national attention by being the ones to stop Fields's slide down the 2021 draft. Having basked in that glory, the Bears are going to be VERY reluctant to ever admit that those other teams just might have been right after all. Being the dead last passer in the league and leading the team to the worst record in the league was not quite enough to budge them. I think ego leads to more GM mistakes than lack of knowledge...by a wide margin (e.g. Chris Ballard). I predict Fields will be wrecked by injuries before the Bears ever move on from him. A good receiver could conceivably bring Fields up from worst to maybe 5th to worst or so....it will be an interesting thing to watch.

3 extra high draft choices sure count for something too...

If it comes down to Levis or Richardson... tough call.
Richardson looked amazing at the combine. The dude is built like a tank. Decision making and accuracy are big questions.
Levis looked pretty good. His "cannon arm" was not the strongest. His arrogance points to a deeper problem, in that he's likely to blame others for issues, and not own up to his shortcomings. Not good for the locker room.
Confidence is great (see McGurkin, Lurkin). Arrogance is a red flag (see Sherman, William T.).

I'm not arrogant at all. People just say that because they are jealous that I'm so much smarter than everyone else, and how I am right all the time about everything.

Now the Colts have added Uncle Rico to the QB room. I guess they figured out that having an unproven rookie backup is a bad thing.

An option not give up anything to trade up. A year needed and maybe an experienced bridge QB with similar game if as expected development goes slowly with the pick. l That is a terrible idea. Richardson hasn’t shown enough to be a high first rounder. Morris might end up being good, but he has a lot of question marks. Richardson looks a bit better than when we first saw the idea. Trading up a spot to make sure they get him may now happen.

Not sure why you would want to do that. I think pretty much any NCAA D1 track team has guys who can jump higher and further than Richardson. And they can be had as UDFA's.
