Not having lights (be it permanent or temporary) is really hampering the ability to work around the gaps in the weather... My Little League had lights in 1965 🙄

How many MAC schools actually have lights for baseball? I did a quick search for a few facilities and of the 4-5 I looked at I think only Eastern showed they had lights.
Most series throughout the season are played during the day. Unless there was to be a conference commitment to start playing night games, it would seem foolish to put up lights based on the possibility that you might host a rain-plagued league tournament. Is Ball Diamond even used for anything other than BSU baseball?

Is Ball Diamond even used for anything other than BSU baseball? In addition, night games would be extremely cold March-May. I'd love to have lights and we really should, but it isn't the end of the world. Local high schools do use it on occasion, and Burris is lucky enough to have it as its home field. Some summer league teams rent it for games/ tournaments.

I don't know about you all, but we really need it. Just wish it would have been spread out over last month instead of just over the last three days... looks like 45-70% until 7pm. ugh.

This rain, it just won’t freaking quit. Besides the consequence for baseball, the golf course is cart path only with my late afternoon tee time in doubt.
At least the field drains well enough they may get a game in if the rain stops.

Looks like they don’t care if the rain stops. They want these games DONE!

Totally agree. Lights would have been a very unnecessary extra expense. Lights are expensive and with the limited use that a baseball diamond gets, in my opinion, they just wouldn't be justified.

It doesn't have to get "limited use". Travel tournaments could be using that field from 8 am to midnight, Thursday to Sunday every weekend. Another way to generate revenue. Also, charge admission for regular season games. Every major D1 program, less Butler does. Hell, high schools $7 per game now. Extra revenue to offset the cost of lights. Musco lighting is that expensive relatively. Tournament play could pay for it. Get a summer college league team in Muncie. Charge admission.

Can they send someone out to the CF camera and wipe that water off the lens?
Thank you.

6 more outs. Admirable showing by Schweitzer after a sluggish first 3 innings.
