EMU can have him. If God doesn't want him and the Devil won't take him why would anyone else (other than EMU) waste their time? Another name that will join the ash heap of guys who never made anything other than trouble.

Was arrested last night when he was pulled over and found to have a firearm in the vehicle with him. Lawyer claims he was borrowing somebody’s car and the firearm was already in there

AP says he was also charged with altering identifying marks on a firearm. Which means "someone" filed off the serial number. That's much worse than the possession charge, although the punishment is less.
Up to 5 years for possession, up to 2 years for the alteration.

Won't be surprised if nothing comes of this "just a big misunderstanding" type stuff will happen.
Though I will say, I'm kinda skeptical that a kid of his national renown, who started at Memphis, with street agents involved and NIL and what not doesn't have his own car.....

I'm starting to think there may be one or two red flags with this guy.

Chandler was a top 70 recruit as was Bonzi and T. Smith was a top 100 recruit.

Two local kids… Good News Central hired a really good high school coach and reports are he has really righted the ship before even playing a game. Muncie still has talent but they have had no leadership hopefully this changes over the next few years

I can't believe the number of good players the same. Population loss. More kids and families transferring.
But I do buy a new coach could do something with what's here. Has to organize a feeder system and build back.
No idea exactly whether Chandler screwed things up, or maybe he just had no clue how to put that system together to rebuild.

No Muncie will never be what it was but there are still a bunch of Talented kids roaming Central. Problem is most never make it past their freshman year and never play. The new coach is doing everything he can to try and keep these kids off the street

We played Muncie in football a couple weeks ago. Keep in mind Muncie is south and Central combined they had 18 kids total on 7th grade team they had maybe 22ish for 8th grade. That’s after waiving the grade requirements so they could field a team. You can’t do that in high school. There were about 30 kids though playing a pick up game on the practice field. You gotta get those kids involved.
Same goes for Basketball Go to Heekin Park on a Fri Sat night you will find 50-75 kids playing pick up Ball. Some BSU players are always there for the competition. Again you gotta get these kids back in central
Delta HS has 4 kids on football from central 2 also play basketball
I’m sure YT has similar numbers
Monroe central has a couple as well
So the transfer thing not as big as you would think

My son class at Delta has about 260 kids let’s say 130 are boys. 40 of them went out for football. 35 on the 8th grade side. These boys fight tooth and nail for minutes. Grades are checked weekly if you have an F at any point of the week you don’t play. If you have 2 Ds you don’t play. If you have a referral you don’t play. 3 referrals your done for the year. It’s a lot but teaches accountability. This starts with Metro the feeder system. We have had these kids since kindergarten every practice we taught accountability as much as practiced football.
Muncie community needs and has too implement or find a way to do something similar to above

In the good days past, not only did you have a bigger talent pool but had kids involved.
If they aren't in the system early on, they're not very likely to get in later.
The transfers are kids you know can play, and so while the numbers don't seem big, they are all kids Central needs, and most would be on the roster. Some transferred precisely because the system was bad and they wanted to get involved early. If MC had 2 from Delta roster, 2 more from Yorktown, maybe 2 more from elsewhere, that's a hell of a difference. 6 players who come in with some talent and with some organization in the system from previous play.
Add a dozen more maybe who were not at all handled well in the MC grade school program, end of quitting BB and/or dropping out and that might double that impact.
You are right it's not just lost talent that has plagued MC, but also coaching and connection which kept them in school.

It's hard to compare the populations in Yorktown or Delta with the Muncie city population in terms of family resource(time and money) which makes sports possible for the kids. But it's a key to try to overcome that.
