Best AD in a long while. Made a lot of good decisions and an overall positive impact on BSU athletics.

Downgrade in salary, but maybe next in line to be the Iowa AD?

Beth was my personal favorite! She was solid and I wish her only success.

Downgrade in salary, but maybe next in line to be the Iowa AD? I wouldn't be so sure that it's a downgrade in salary...

Downgrade in salary, but maybe next in line to be the Iowa AD? Kinda have to think she's thinking she could be next in the big chair there to make this move right now. Big 10 is swimming in money so I wouldn't be surprised if she actually gets a salary increase to be deputy at Iowa.

BTW, current discrimination law defines exceptions where discrimination is quite legal. In cases where there is a bona fide occupational qualification, for example.
You mean like strippers? Yeah, I'd hate to have some pre-op transgender giving me a lap dance, too. So, Joker’s Wild is still open!

It's a move up to show she can manage good resources, handle different problems. Iowa might be an opportunity in the future, but the reason has to be more that there isn't that much more she can do here, time to move on, and I don't see Iowa AD as especially likely long term. Sure, that or another P5 might be in the running after P5 FB achieves real independence maybe. With an "AD of FB" being king in those programs, but essentially separate from NCAA jurisdiction. At that point I would also look at her prospects to include a top NCAA position as well as any program where FB is not the flagship.

I think it seems Logical that the front Runner would be Haven Fields. He is popular, Well liked by most but is somewhat unproven. If your a football fan then you want Haven

I haven't seen it discussed anywhere on the board, but back in late August BG fired their AD; on the MAC message board a couple weeks ago someone posted the following:
"Here is the list of people I was given by a BG source:
Haven Fields, Deputy AD, Ball State Scott Garrett, AD, Cleveland State Anton Goff, Senior Associate AD, NIU Carey Hoyt, Senior Associate AD, Ohio State Tom Moreland, Senior Associate AD, Purdue Mark Shook, VP of Intercollegiate Athletics, Kentucky Wesleyan Jermaine Truax, AD, Bucknell Steve Watson, AD, Loyola-Chicago"
Looking at the BG message board earlier today, they seemed to indicate their university president wanted someone who could bring the hockey program back to relevance; don't know if Haven Fields fits that mold or not. Be that as it may, this is just message board fodder for the time being.

Haven is due and would be a good choice.
The strong football background is WAY different from Beth and us "non-revenue" sports followers just might get left in the dust.

MAC FB already sucks up the budget, and the minor sports are going to always be important to the 2nd and 3rd tier athletic programs like the MAC.
