well, Mike can't make decisions purely to keep guys from transferring, (and they're gonna leave if they're gonna leave) and yeah I'd like to see what Kelly can do, but for now Paddock has earned his shot. He's put in the time and he didn't look terrible vs. Tn.

Kelly must not be as good as he was projected...not even sure he is second string QB...possibly he could convert to another position?

I'm hoping they start Paddock, then give Kelly 2-3 series. Bit of a change of pace QB. And then you throw him out at WR for a handful of plays. If Kelly plays well and WMU doesn't seem to handle him well, maybe he gets a little more time at QB.
I don't know if it would be winning football, but I'd enjoy getting a look at the kid.
It's hard for me to believe that Neu would do that though.

Really think Brandon should retire. He’s pushed as hard as he can go. Still ultra valuable in the linebacker room.

Looking at the two deep, we are a REALLY young team. If they continue to improve, next year should be a good year. Hoping for 500 or better this year - it will take the ball bouncing our way to make it happen.

Hear me out. No depth chart listed in game notes. History suggests Coach Neu sticks with his guys. You’d especially think that in week 2. Is it possible, and I know it is a long shot, there is a big surprise roster adjustment for this game? I’m thinking specifically at QB. I know QB 1 looked adequate at Tennessee but what if Kelly has unique skill set that we wanted to keep hidden from WMU? Ok, you can proceed to strike this possibility down now. Just seeing if I can stir up some controversy, haha! Kelly is not the back up. |

It's okay to be a young team. Just win the games you can and compete in the others. No blowouts. Tennessee is understandable, but no blowouts to MAC schools and losing to FCS like we had in the late Lembo years. That was ridiculous

At least it took 2 plays for us to turn the ball over this week. Maybe next game we can make it to play 3.
