I do not understand Neu’s unwillingness to throw it in the middle of the field. The WR’s end up having to make these high risk/high reward catches. Paddock is……serviceable. Well Neu thinks Paddock is the best passer he’s had, so there ya go…. We won big, yes. But we didn’t really play big. And still with the really stupid penalties.

You guys are right. Murray St. was horrendous and hung with us for way too long. Glad we got a win, but that does not build my confidence in this team. Hopefully they play better next week. They will have to in order to win.

ZERO sacks in 3 games?
Paddock is a back up QB. Neu will play him the next 2 years because he paid his “dues” and waited his turn while the talented young QB’s on the roster will bounce.

Do yourselves a favor watch Toledo and Finn. There not going to win but don’t watch for that reason. Watch the offense they run watch Finn and some of things he does. He is going to make some terrible mistakes but then makes up for it by doing something only he can do

Somehow…..7 years ago……I thought we would find some diamond-in-the-rough QB recruit and our NFL expert would polish him into a MAC world beater. I am starting to believe that was just a fantasy from a parallel universe going the opposite direction.

Let me finish it for you: Paddock is......serviceable......at best Whether at best, or at least, he is the guy who has won the job. And at this point is probably our best QB. This is not a QB or a team that is likely to be a championship team, but none of see any magic move that would change that.

The backup qb is always a fan favorite until they play in a game.
If we are midway through the season and struggling at qb I'm all for giving them a shot.
What I don’t understand is not getting them some action in blowouts like today.

There is no answer for this year but when/if we are eliminated from bowl contention get him out and move on. He is in his 5th year what we have seen is his ceiling

We went from Riley Neal who was ok to Drew Plitt to another ok QB. Wonder whose fault that is? I’m not anti-Paddock at all. Neu worked with a HOF QB. He worked around a great offense in New Orleans. Ball State doesn’t have Drew Brees or Alvin Kamara. I just haven’t seen the creativity I expected to see with him as coach.

Totally agree with the fact that some the back-ups should have gotten snaps today.

Can't we attribute part, most or even all of this to the height, or lack thereof of our QB ?? Conversations for the past four years have been about him being so short. We're getting 3 and 4 deflections a game and probably don't want to risk having more if we tried to throw over the middle.

In your 5th year you are what you are and all your ever going to be. Paddock is a decent QB who can win some MAC games. Based on what I’ve seen so far I don’t think he is better than 5th year Drew. I’ve also not seen him even attempt to run at all. Drew would keep drives alive by running for 3 or 4 first downs a game. It did not seem like much then but would be huge now
