it was obvious we could have put cardfan in at Qb and win this game. It was obvious we could have put Peyton manning out there against TN and lost. So you play a different qb the mid way through 3rd and the 4th. The staff gets an idea of what a qb will bring. Had we done that with paddock over a 5 year period the need to have this experiment might not be needed I could absolutely hand that ball off at an all mac level AND I guarantee I’d get as many yards rushing as Paddock did. If I have a Frankenstein at QB I’m running a QB draw every time! Ain’t nobody stopping that!

The first 2 games we were keeping the 2 tight ends in to block; basically 7 offensive linemen. Against Murray State we released tight ends for pass patterns. It showed that our 5 offensive linemen had trouble run and pass blocking the defense of Murray State. Concerning issue to me.

If only we had a mobile QB...

The OL Has not been opening holes. A lot of what Steele gets he gets on his own. Too many 1 and 2 yard gains. Murray got pressure on paddock and got him down once. That he’s only been sacked once is mostly due to all the short quick passes. We lack punch.

Fools gold victory. Barfield looked good as did Pemberton and Steele did his thing. Announcers mentioned that our second string line and others were playing in the 4th. I don't know how true that was. Toledo 10 and Tn 77 plus Akron and Ball State vs Tn. Talk about war crimes---sure you get a million for playing those teams but what did Tn learn about themselves or BSU in playing the game. The power conferences are making million dollar deals all over the place. I think that they should just give a few million to the MAC, Sun Belt, etc. and be done with it. I think that the poor unfortunate folks who were paraded out into the Roman Coliseum were initially impressed with the pagentry and crowd until the lions entered the arena.

Ain’t nobody stopping that! Until the defense starts waving torches. But I think that might be a penalty. "Illegal use of flammable devices on the field of play, let's say a 10 yard penalty from the spot of the flame." Get Sherm in here. He has experience with fire.

Ain’t nobody stopping that! To hell with any deception of a draw play, call him a wildcat (or probably "wildcard") and give cardfan however many yards back from center as he needs to get up to speed before destroying opposition linemen.
After some reflection on the idea of possible deception, we might want a real QB in there for the occasional change of pace when the "wildcard" goes in motion and the snap goes to the QB who passes to the lumbering wildcard in the flat. The coaching staff favors such horizontal offense and a wildcard might make it work?
Carson Steele could back up the new position. Those long scoring drives might be fatiguing.

Maybe Steele isnt patient enough, that’s something I’m not savvy enough to diagnose, but it definitely seems like Steele has to make his own hole.
