I had BSU Football 7-5 for the season. I am sticking by it. I can see it but there is 0 room for error. They aren’t going to beat Toledo and Kent will be a tough one. If you go with those 2 as losses, you have to beat EMU, Ohio and Miami. I think there is some saying about the journey of a 1000 miles….so let’s beat the Hurons.

I like reasons we think we will win games? The fan in me of course wants us to win them all but when I look at numbers and matchups I just struggle to find winnable games if we play like we have been playing. We can beat Eastern because they are Eastern. As for the rest of the schedule I’m with you. We have got to win this weekend and then count on Maction craziness to get us to 6

Beating EMU and Ohio seem the best chance. No game is anything like sure.
For personal reasons I would dearly love to beat Miami. If we did that, and lost all the rest I might count it as a successful season.

It’s going to be a fun 5 game stretch starting with going for four in a row with eastern. Potential for a game against a maybe ranked Toledo team. We love that position historically. Maybe trying to get that 6th win against Miami.

Been unable to post for a while, but just in response to those bowl comments, I'll just say I tend to hold to an oid, and admittedly outdated notion, that bowls games are for the best, or at least better, teams in the country. At points in the past I defended expansion of the bowls to allow conferences like the MAC to showcase their better teams.
But, just as I criticize larger conferences such as the Big Ten for sending mediocre teams to a bowl, I cannot defend the MAC sending a team barely ranked inside the Top 100 to a bowl just because it was able to beat 6 teams ranked outside the top 100, even if it is the team I support.
I do understand bowls are really about money and nothing else, and as long as someone thinks they can make money and you guys and the university are willing to pony up cash, standards really have nothing to do with it.
However, I also wonder how many of you also would have supported paying to send a few more of those Whitford-coached basketball teams to those pay-for-play postseason basketball tournaments.
Let's just call those tournaments, along with any bowl BSU is likely to play in this season, what they are - participation awards.

They should reduce the number of bowl games. I agree that mediocre MAC teams don’t deserve a bowl game, but the bowl games exist. If we don’t go, is a 3 - 9 Bowling Green going to take our place?

So if we don't spend thousands of dollars to send our team to a bowl game, someone else will? We're theoretically protecting the Bowling Greens of the world from themselves? There are tons of scams out there promising everything from weight loss to financial security to curing whatever ails you. Do we all sign up for those to protect our neighbor from wasting their money? I don't know. It just amazes me how football has gotten so popular that people are willing to overlook/ignore things that they would never overlook/ignore in their personal lives ... just because it's football.

Kent is 2nd in offense in yards per game and this includes Washington, OU and Georgia on the schedule. Defensively, they are dead last in sacks and INT’s.

If we care about financials we should just drop the entire football program. So, one bowl game is where you draw the line? As long as they are playing games I will support them and root for what is best for the players. The financials never cross my mind. It doesn't concern me personally.

Some fans like to watch football, others don’t. As BSUTony said, if I was personally financially invested I may have a different opinion. It’s really not that hard to understand.
