Vermont will be a very tough test for the Cards!
They lost 59-57 the other night at USC!
There are some other good teams we could potentially play like Long Beach State as well as a likely match up against UNCW that lost to #1 NC by 13 on the road or Missouri State that barely lost by 2 at BYU!
Ball State better come to play

This could be be a brutal introduction to higher level competition for this team unless we perform at a new level. Have to avoid turnovers, make defensive effort a key, get shots from turning the opponent over.
Not sure who we can beat in this field. Especially if we try to play an 8 man rotation for 3 games in such a short time.
Certainly need everyone now playing to play well, expand the minutes of bench players, hopefully add in Owens White and be able to keep most players minutes max of 30 minutes.

This may actually be a good thing. Will provide a clear look as to who they are and where they need to go to be competitive in the MAC.

We have good chances except when we play the top 3 teams out of the 8.
We have to improve though. All the top 3 teams seem as strong or maybe stronger than ISU, those 3 favorites against us. We're about equal to 4 teams, all stronger than Omaha.
The bad news is we got our ass kicked by ISU, We have to improve over that game, and over our game at Omaha.
Odds are we lose the opener and play one of the roughly equal teams.
My concern above is with playing 3 games on the weekend, with 3 players at 35+ minutes and 6 or 7 players getting 30+ minutes. We need not just to improve overall but have more depth.

I’m going out on my optimistic limb and saying we will beat Vermont and May very well play Long Beach State in the final!

If we win, we likely run into Missouri St which is strong. LBS would have to beat NTex to get there. Form would say NT and MSt are the two strongest teams who play in the Final. Either way, it would be 3 tough games in 3 days anyway. That would test our depth and toughness.
A loss to Vermont throws us into the losers bracket where we are maybe a favorite against any of the teams. We would have two teams pretty equal to us and we would be favored against Oakland.
Who knows? This is tournament BB and anything can happen...and which team is most focused and intense. Will not be a vacation on the beach if we want even 2 wins.

Not as good maybe as Toledo and Kent, or maybe Akron, but good. But at least we play them once each at home. Beating Ohio would be a really good win.
At first glance it looks like we'll be fighting to be in the top half of the MAC behind those teams and vying with BG, UB.
