On the plus side, we only had 11 turnovers with the bulk of those happening in the first half.

I think their rebounding advantage was entirely the result of us missing all those FTs. We had more offensive rebounds than they did.

We also got out rebounded 30 to 34. This will probably be a reoccurring theme this season. The downside of a 4 guard line-up is you get out rebounded by teams playing 3 true front court players. Correct that, they also started 4 guards. Guess it was more their guards out rebounded ours, but I still think this will be a major problem later the season. Lewis seemed to put Pearson into the lineup after getting burned on the boards, but there is only one Pearson and he's only 6' 7".

Also need a 7th player to contribute. Hopefully that's Ownes-White. Somewhat less likely is that Bumbalough removes head from backside. Jihad is just there to eat some minutes in an unproductive sort of way. Cleary?
Eventually one of freshman?

We played our starters a lot of minutes. Too much for 3 games, 3 days.
Vermont, ISU both a little better than we are it looks. Don't believe either quite as good as best MAC teams. Vermont coach has had good record.
Bad news for me was how the D was not all that good. Played well to make a couple of runs it appears.
Not all bad news, it's easy to see how we can improve. We did not get a great start, but didn't fold. Started well 2nd half. That's good.

We missed 13 free throws which was the difference maker!
We also got to find away to close out on the shooters!
Other than free throws the game was statistically close.

Yeh, I think you should only get credit for 1/2 a rebound on a missed free throw. Not just in this instance, but in general, that can become a really skewed number.
