Vermont would be the 4th best team in the MAC, per KenPom.
If Lewis can't compete with teams of this caliber with the players he currently has, then he had damn sure better be out recruiting and signing superior players.

We should compete, but V is probably a favorite...at least at this point in the season.

The strength of KenPom's method is that it intelligently uses the most relevant data around results - win/loss, strength of opposition, margin - and so the more results the more accurate it becomes. But even at this early stage, his rankings are still more reliable than ordinary fan blather, which is so heavily influenced by whatever narrative is being pushed at the moment. There is a certain point in the season where teams have pretty much shown what they are and tend to stay within ten or twenty spots of where they are pegged at that point. Not sure exactly when that point is, but I think by New Years anyway.
Not saying we necessarily need to beat Vermont, but if we simply look outclassed and get abused, that would be a very bad and very prominent data point among our still small sample size of Lewis results.

Who’s paying 29.99 to watch Easily more than $30 to attend a game, which I would spend, and i think the $30 gets all 3 games, right?

In watching a couple Vermont games so far this season I can say we are definitely the more athletic team. They are more disciplined than us and probably have the best player on the court in Dylan Penn. He tough to guard, is a lefty, and can play the 1-4 spots on the floor. Kind of a matchup nightmare. Ironically I think he can bring out the best in Coleman on both sides of the floor. I’m intrigued to see how we so containing him.

A win over Vermont would certainly help to lift me out of the football funk and food coma I am likely to be suffering through by Friday.

Chances of us winning against Vermont are approximately the BSU football team's chances of making it to a bowl game or beating Georgia. Whichever you prefer, they're both equally unlikely.

I think we're currently a team that doesn't really know what it's identity is so early in the year, with old guys like Luke and Boog, and the younger ones like Basheer and Sparks trying to make a difference, while not overstepping with the new coach, figuring him out....... Vermont will win, but I think we'll see some reason for improvement.
