The prevailing sentiment in the pre-season poll was that we would win 4 or 5 games. That number was predicated on having a young team that was a year away. We actually had better than 4/5 win talent this year and the coaching staff decisions held them back from a better season I think we didn’t think we’d be good because we have no faith in the staff. We are mostly underwhelming with Neu and Lynch and assume the team wouldn’t be good because of last year’s underachievement and loss of all those seniors. Obvious why we looked so meh last year— the coaching. Our d was championship quality this year and neu and lynch totally effed those defensive players and staff over with their insane devotion to a qb and offense system that just didn’t work. Won’t be a bit surprised if we lose a bunch of good talent to the portal. Especially on offense. We were excited about Kelly and he showed why. But that didn’t fit into how neu and lynch see offense. They see it as 1990’s style smash mouth and win w defense. The Schudel method. That doesn’t work unless your oline can dominate and your qb doesn’t make terrible throws. I’ve been looking forward to Semonza coming in. But that’s foolish on my part. Why should be excited about any stud qb we recruit? Won’t matter; Paddock will be out there again next year. Waste of time hoping Neu can do more than 5 wins most years. Tactically and in personnel use he’s just not capable. |

Guys I’m going to say this because I really don’t think she would mind. I’ve became pretty good friends with the Kelly’s over the last 2 years. I just got off the phone with his mom. They don’t want to transfer Kiael loves it here but he can’t sit another year behind paddock. He wanted to to throw the ball tonight he was told he would be giving the chance too those plays were not called by Kevin. Whether or not he stays will be determined by what he is told in after season meetings. I told her to give it spring ball and see what happens if at that point Kiael is not firmly the guy then hit the portal. Maybe they listen maybe they won’t I don’t know. They will have to do what’s best for them.

Neu is ultimately responsible and decided to play a horrible qb all season long when we clearly have some talent behind him. And the thing is Kelly was the third-string QB, right? So Blazek is supposedly better than Kelly? I mean, Kelly definitely looked like he deserved a better look, so I wonder what Blazek might have looked like. Even if they wanted to redshirt him, they could have been playing him some these past few games. Just bewildering decision-making. No one gets the Blazek at 2 thing he obviously was not the 2 when push came to shove |

I’d like to hear him explain why we’re are so impotent in 4th quarters. Like, all the 4th quarters he’s ever coached. And id like to hear why lynch should return as OC. (And if lynch wasn’t calling plays why was Neu and why were the calls so bad). |

So just for a statistical port-mortem:
On our first four series, we had 234 yards on 24 plays, an average of 9.75 yards per play.
On our remaining series, we gained 133 yards on 46 plays, an average of 2.89 yards per play.
Paddock accounted for 119 yards on 32 plays (all passes) for a 3.7 yards per play average. His longest completion was a screen that Steele took or 19 yards. Other than that his longest pass went for 13 yards.
Kelly accounted for 106 yards on 9 plays for a 11.7 yards per play average. He had the longest BSU pass play of the game at 23 yards.
Steele accounted for 215 yards on 32 plays for a 6.7 yards per play average.

Neu should apologize to the team for this game and this season, but I assume that doesn't inspire a team's confidence in its coach. The only thing that could salvage the situation is if they dump Lynch and bring in a good OC. That might convince some to stick around. The defense was good enough to win the MAC. If the play calling on offense was improved this team could be playing in Detroit. Neu is ultimately responsible and decided to play a horrible qb all season long when we clearly have some talent behind him. This was one of our best defenses this year that I can remember. Honestly, the defense played well all season. We have perhaps the best running back to ever play for Ball State. And yet, we win 5 games. We’ll just have to clean some things up… |

Paddock can stick around and be our best halftime hype talker and cheerleader. |

Now he deserves the blame for ruining a what could have been a better than expected season. Now he better hope he hits gold in the portal cause next year on paper does not look any better. Until tonight he seat was only warm to the most hard core fans now it’s hot to even the casual fan. He still has firing of lynch to buy himself an extra year. I suppose he will wait to use that till next off season |
