I am glad he left. Thought he was a selfish player. Yep, he dominated the ball and took horrible shots. I don't think he meshed well at all. Seemed like a loner on the floor. He is a very weird player. First, he doesn't really have a position. He does some things well when he's on, but he's very up and down. He creates chaos in an offense. You end up with him dribbling with his head down all over the place and 4 other guys standing around.

Lewis established early he wanted ball movement with the pass, and sharing the ball. Could be a little why Brown left too. Brown left because he was told he would probably get 8-10 minutes per game at best based on initial film evaluation.

He should be on the Island of Misfit Toys. He's a football player who plays basketball and wishes he could wear a swimming Speedo.

Yeah he put his head down and forearm out and bulled Coleman backward yesterday and somehow got a call against Coleman.

That due to the defense issue he couldn't fix

Thankfully we now have a coach who doesn’t just stare off into the abyss as we self destruct. Sadly, despite your comments, we aren't any better than we were last year at this time. Jimmy's and Joe's over X's and O's. This is complete bullshit. We are far better with essentially the same personnel sans Coleman.

I do not agree with the abysmally low evaluation of Whitford and his staff that dominates here, but very much like the way Lewis is coaching and think it deserves to be considered better.
Of course you don't agree with Whitford's evaluation by the majority of the fanbase because if you were in charge he'd still be our coach and you'd be making excuses as to why we should retain him and we couldn't afford to hire anyone better. Thankfully Goetz didn't share your viewpoint and trusted her eyesight, insight and experience.

Maybe I should say, why do people who are successful move on, more money and advancement in their career.

If all you're going to look at is numbers then I guess there's no hope.... The rest of us are looking at HOW we play and HOW we coach now. It's a world different. (and we lost at the buzzer to a solid San Jose St. (11-6, wins over teams like UNLV) team coached by Tim Miles, and we had Duquesne beat till a kid threw in a prayer at the buzzer. Whitford would not have had us that close to Duquesne on the road. They are 11-4. And they are in a better conference.) We're two buzzer beaters from 12-2. Bottom line, anyone who can objectively observe us play this year as compared to last year/the previous 8 years can tell we are playing harder, smarter, tougher, and make better adjustments.

Right? it's almost as if a better long term opportunity came about or something. Like maybe a Big 10 school, with all it's vast resources, came calling.

Come on, is that even debatable? It’s like two entirely different teams but with the same players! Still a lot of games to play but as of today the team I saw last night and so far this season are light years apart.

He was better than this group thought but as I said, I like Lewis choice very much.
