Pearson just made a nice play.
But against these physical teams we really do need bench that plays hard.

Really Good win. But can some bench help transfer in and be eligible in January? Don’t know how long we can go with basically a 6 man group.

Indeed. Is Owens-White going to ever play? Not that I have any reason to think he is that great, but he's at least a possibility of adding something to the bench. Nor is he exactly the type of player I would choose to add. I would choose to add, say, a Robert Parish. Except of course The Chief would be a starter not a bench player....but you know what I mean. KenP has Ill State ranked with six MAC teams above and six MAC teams below. So we need to beat teams like this....and we did. |

Owens-White was dressed on the bench today. I would guess that means he is healthy enough to play. I believe all games before today he was in street clothes while on the bench.
The freshman Quincy Adams was still wearing street clothing while on the bench today.

Sellers again was just a man tonight. First player we have had that can do it all in a long time. Jacobs probably mvp though

Mostly, each game is showing noticeable improvement.
Hard to believe it took folks 7 years to figure out what was apparent in the first whityear.
It’s difficult to describe and I’m sure someone will dispute it, but this SAME group of players are suddenly making more “athletic basketball moves” than they ever did last year.

I mentioned in some other thread here recently that I am a Sellers believer now. How could I not be? Previously I had noted that his production was not all that great last year and wondered aloud why his reputation on this board was as high as it was. Seems the nimrods on this board got one right for once. How about that? As a stat geek, his stats this year are wondrous to look at. Especially 54% FG, 58% 3PT, 83% FT. That sort of efficiency would have fit well into ANY Ball State team of the past. Actually his efficiency was pretty good last year also, but the production was not really there. |

The defense was real fun to watch, reminded be of the Dick Hunsacker (sp) days. The difference was the offense was better. Had trouble seeing an IU guy take the head coaching job, but right now I must say, “This appears to be a greate hire!”
