Here’s another POV. Lewis wanted to win this game, not that he doesn’t want to win every game, but he wanted this one personally due to his friendship with Pedon. Now here’s what’s different, I think the players picked up on this and came ready to play hard and win bc they believe in their new coach and trust him and want to win for him! I don’t know about you but I never had this perception with any of the teams Jimmy SB coached!

Really Good win. But can some bench help transfer in and be eligible in January? Don’t know how long we can go with basically a 6 man group. When Pearson starts, our bench up front is just Jihad, so we have to have him improve and play small ball with Windham being a microwave scorer. Doesn't seem Hendricks is going to be a big surprise and help a little. Bumb doing well off the bench, playing gritty D. I say we have 8 man rotation, but lack size. No solution I see to that ... Owens White can help only a little, say if Bumb is off, Cleary can conceivably do more. |

Probably true, but don't ever forget how great Whitford's team would have done in the 2019-20 MAC tourney, had it been held.

Sherm, are you sold on Sellers now? Oh yes. I mentioned in some other thread here recently that I am a Sellers believer now. How could I not be? Previously I had noted that his production was not all that great last year and wondered aloud why his reputation on this board was as high as it was. Seems the nimrods on this board got one right for once. How about that? As a stat geek, his stats this year are wondrous to look at. Especially 54% FG, 58% 3PT, 83% FT. That sort of efficiency would have fit well into ANY Ball State team of the past. Actually his efficiency was pretty good last year also, but the production was not really there. His shooting efficiency is off the charts |

Owens-White was dressed on the bench today. I would guess that means he is healthy enough to play. Usually players dressed for 1st time after injury are physically cleared, but hard to tell how ready after a few practices only. The exhibition action he saw, he looked like he added quickness. Might contend with Bumb in relief of Jacobs. Or play in a full court press on the ball if we needed that. |

Coleman once again good A/TO ratio. 7/2. (Whole team 19/11 on 27 made FG.)
Led in assists including a Boogie style behind the back under the basket. He's a point forward it appears. Defends mostly bigger players.
All the starters except Sparks defending 4 positions when needed, and handling the ball. Jacobs got 3 more blocks.

Coleman is interesting. Thankfully, we are not as reliant on him as it appeared we might be the first few games. His overall stat line was pretty good except 6-16 shooting. Unfortunately, this sort of high volume, low percentage shooting game is not unusual for him. In this young season already, he also has games of 4-12, 4-18 and 3-12. He saves himself from being a shooting disaster by hitting 40% threes and 89% from the line. On 2 point shots he only shoots 35%.
He's had exactly 2 turnovers in each of the last 6 games. We can live and win with that. Before that he had 4 games in a row with 4 or more. It seems he's made an effort, which I appreciate. If we credit him with making an effort to play good, team-oriented winning basketball then I'm back to an idea I've expressed here before: he simply and honestly is not capable of recognizing a bad shot until it's too late to stop.

Was able to watch the 2nd half. Starting to really love this team! Defense continues to impress. Offense appears to improve each game. Sellers is special! Agree with the comments about needing depth, but I like Jihad, Bumb & Windham coming off the bench. They’ll continue to improve. Lewis is building something special!!!

lower level seats were sparse but I saw a shot of the second tier of seats behind both benches and that is where most of the fans were. Cheaper seats. I think the lower level seats were $70.00 not sure but read it someplace in the promotion of the Classic
