The morning line has us a 7.5 point favorite. Kenpom has up 8. ESPN has us an 85% chance of winning. I say the mighty Cards by 11.

For whatever it's worth the following was posted yesterday on the MAC board (there was no reference as to who or where the rankings came from):
"MAC Team's Net Rankings after last week's games (out of 363 Teams):
34 - Kent State 120 - Ball State 144 - Toledo 146 - Akron 168 - Ohio 200 - Buffalo 271 - Bowling Green 290 - Central Michigan 300 - Eastern Michigan 306 - Northern Illinois 315 - Miami 337 - Western Michigan
The MAC has no Quad 1 wins, and only two Quad 2 (Toledo on a Neutral court over #63 UAB and Ohio at #121 Youngstown State)"

Kent State in my view has played well enough thus far for an at large but it’s been many seasons since the MAC has garnered two bids!!

Regarding Kent that may be true but the MAC season will drop their Kenpom rating down without a doubt. One team is it.

Regarding Kent that may be true but the MAC season will drop their Kenpom rating down without a doubt. One team is it. True, true. When your conference is filled with D1 bottom dwellers (see that NET ranking above), your RPI is never going to benefit your post season aspirations. That's why the conference tournament has always been a Russian Roulette for good MAC teams......in ANY sport.

It does seem a good chance that if Kent stumbled in the MAC tourney they better run the table in the MAC if they want at large. Good bet they would get NIT based on what they are doing now, which is pretty hard for anybody else in the MAC to do at this point. Toledo with a great MAC season, maybe.

Too early for me to worry much about post season.
Georgia Southern could always be a problem, we better win this one before worrying about anything else...
They play 8 players 20+ minutes. A former Texas Tech player is leading in scoring, 6-7, 225, we don't match up well with him.
Don't seem to be great outside shooters, have another big boy who plays inside and should challenge Sparks. So it may be a similar game to a couple of others where we have to really block out and keep Sparks on the floor.
They lost handily to SanJoseSt, but on the road, they were not not impressive against Western Mich. We should be a favorite. So far we have to like that Lewis has been able to get us ready to play, or been able to get us in gear after a bad start. Except ISU. We've beaten the spread recently with what Lewis says he wants to have become our trademark. It is very hard to avoid let downs...

The tournament has been our only hope for a long time but it is silly to reward a team for winning a couple games in a row after playing the whole season.

They beat us last year in the very first game of anyone remembers that. Bumbalough was our leading scorer that game and Sparks only had 6 points. I bet the opposite happens tonight.

They look like the best team we have faced IMO. Big, disciplined, and talented.
