Kenpom has these ratings for Indiana teams: 1. Purdue, #6; 2 IU, 19; 3 Butler, 83; 4 Notre Dame, 109; 5 ISU, 114; 6 Fort Wayne, 140; 7 Ball State 161; 8 Indiana Southern 252; 9 Valpo, 298; 10 Evansville, 330; IUPUI, 362. How do you think how accurate these are? I think we'll pass Fort Wayne as we keep improving. BTW, IUPUI is next to last in the country.

I think ratings were made to be debated. Here are the NET rankings for state schools for comparison:
4. Purdue
19. Indiana
69. Butler
104. Indiana State
121. Purdue-Fort Wayne
125. Ball State
173. Notre Dame
224. Southern Indiana
310. Valparaiso
323. Evansville
361. IUPUI
Note most of the top 5-6 teams listed seem to be little higher rated in the NET rankings, the notable exception being Notre Dame, which is 109 in Kenpom and 173 in this system.

Why do I hate being ranked below Ft Wayne?
Worthy of note:
IUPUI is clinging to last place in KenPom by 0.03 rating points.
Hartford has been narrowing the gap with their NCSOS and IUPUI’s trouncing of Texas A&M-Commerce

After this weekend IU and Butler dropped significantly. Or will, when new rankings come out. Indiana State is really good this year..they are 6-0 conference already and 13-4 overall. Not sure but might be off to best start in 20+ years, so hats off to them. |

I want Butler and IU to be very successful, at least for a couple of years. If they continue their current trends they might decide to make a coaching change, and do we really want that?

We beat their women's team like a drum on a regular basis. Alex Richards came to us from Butler and she is really good.

Kenpom is quoted everywhere, just like the old rpi, sagarins and every other system. Funny thing about Pomeroy age Sagarin is that both of them encourage feedback and questions. Based on Lewis’ preseason comments on scheduling I think he really wants to focus on good teams from Indiana and our neighbors. I dont know what sticking points would arise, but I think he’d really want Butler on the schedule.
