-- Not sure what the attendance was, somewhere between 3,000-4,000 I'd guess. I think we've had a very few crowds in recent years where maybe it got as loud as it did last night, but this crowd was engaged much earlier in the game, not just clapping but on its feet. Even the old folks, although it seemed younger people led others to get on their feet. The technicals and the little dust-up helped prime things. We've talked in the past how a team takes on the demeanor of its coach. That's certainly happening with this team and coach, but what's also going to happen is the crowd is going to take on the demeanor of the team/coach. Could be a wonderful/vicious cycle. -- Freeman really was impressive, but he had virtually no help so if they have Casteneda back at their place it likely will be a very different game. A lot of Akron's guard scoring in the first half came from drives into the lane resulting in short jumpers. That didn't happen much in the second half. -- I feel like Coleman could be a model for the old cartoon where the guy has the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. Lately the angel is winning a lot more, but the devil raises his head a couple of times a game. Of all the good things Lewis has done, right up there is corralling Boogie's attitude. -- Lewis has mentioned a couple of times recently how this team has won in different ways, and that is one of the more refreshing things about this team. For year's now we've said "Well, we could beat (insert name of decent team here) if we we really shoot well from 3." But that was it; that was the only way we were going to win. I would think opposing coaches are having a little more difficult time figuring out a plan of attack this year. -- Worth noting that we start the MAC schedule with Toledo and Akron. We also end the MAC schedule with those teams. So, as we're fighting for tournament seeding at the end of the season we'll be facing some very capable teams with revenge on their mind. In fact, 3 of our final 4 regular season games will be Toledo, Akron and Kent. -- Speaking of Kent, I'm thinking the MAC better assign their best officials for those games or it could get really ugly.

Three things from last night:
Coleman became Cole-MAN.
Defense locked down late.
The crowd was the best I’ve seen in years.

They still have some good players but do not seem to be as good but they have owned us for quite awhile They’re young though 4 freshmen started or played last night. They stay around and Akron will be a very tough out.

Does anyone know if Jacobs will have any eligibility after this year Graduate, Covid ??

Unfortunately, he's in his 5th year of playing. We are really going to miss him.

Luke 1 minute ouch but its the right call He played more than that so if the box score says that it’s wrong. I bet he played 5 minutes. Did a decent job on defense while he was in. Now I think he was only subbed in once and never came back into the game after that. Announcers made a comment about him saying he averaged like 30 mpg last year and now he only has 14 mpg or something like that.

Box score has Luke for 5:51.
Box score also didn't list attendance, which was odd. I'd guess about 4,500.

I know they are looking for a replacement for Robby General but this has helped me drop The Star Press subscription Not a peep about the last couple of games.

Local newspapers dying. We're losing local news. No real substitute, serious harm to holding a community together.
