Cards will pull out a win. Vegas line I see is Ohio favored by 1.5 so it's dropping.

It will be close. Question is, if we win convincingly, what will our expectations be rest of the year? I guess we cross that bridge when we come to it! Athens is always difficult place to play on road. Can't wait for tonight! Cards 80 Ohio 71 If we win tonight I think we are clearly a championship contender and any further losses other than on the road to the other top teams (e.g. Kent, Akron) would be disappointing. |

At some point Sellers is going to have an off night somewhat did against AKron but Akron did much to cause that he still had a good game.Lack of good free throw shooting is always lurking in the background and if our rebounding has an off night. These have already happened but strong consistent defense has saved the day. Miami almost got Kent and the Toledo women lost a 17 pt lead to Northern and lost in DeKalb. Yes we can get beaten by Ohio but hope that we continue giving a strong consistent effort. Go Cards!

We've obviously played well recently, and pulled out some games that have been tight in the final minutes, but it's not like we don't have deficiencies. So far we've been able to fight through those, or hide them/compensate for them to some extent.
But we could also be 0-2 in the MAC right now. The UT game could have gone the other way easily, as could the Akron game (with the opponent missing a 19 ppg scorer).
Right now we're 2-0 in games I think people would have listed as toss-ups or losses going into those games. If we push that to 3-0 tonight, that would be a truly great start.

We have 2 common opponents so far with Ohio…EIU and a Chicago St. OU beat those teams by a combined 28 points. We beat those same teams by a combined 24 points. I expect another close game tonight. Perhaps Windham lights it up again at OU like he did last year in the ultimate “Screw you Whitford” game. I’m pretty sure OU crushed us at their place last year, but Windham was unstoppable in garbage time.
