This camera angle is painful. It’s not the angle, it’s the jerkiness…

Is our defense amazing or is Ohio’s offense terrible?

Is our defense amazing or is Ohio’s offense terrible? The tv broadcast guys were talking about our defensive propensity to keep arms in passing lanes making guys go one on one. That is a big difference from prior years and will win a lot of MAC games.

We've obviously played well recently, and pulled out some games that have been tight in the final minutes, but it's not like we don't have deficiencies. So far we've been able to fight through those, or hide them/compensate for them to some extent. But we could also be 0-2 in the MAC right now. The UT game could have gone the other way easily, as could the Akron game (with the opponent missing a 19 ppg scorer). Right now we're 2-0 in games I think people would have listed as toss-ups or losses going into those games. If we push that to 3-0 tonight, that would be a truly great start. I totally agree. I also think a really good thing that we do well is distribute the scoring among the scoring. We have 4 starters averaging from 12-14 points a night, so when one guy has an off night, someone else can pick him up.

The BSU announcers think Jacobs is ill. Could be a lot of Coleman as the PG in the second half.

Need to clean up our play in 2nd half. 12 turnovers, many unforced, have really hurt us. Need Sparks & Sellers to step up this half.

If Jacobs can't go in the second half, I'm worried about possibly putting the ball in Coleman's hands for a full half. He just hasn't fully kicked the habit of making bad/lazy passes. I'd rather see Owens-White or even Bum at point with Coleman off the ball. Of course I'm sure Coleman is getting an earful from Lewis about now.

Not only because of Coleman handling the ball, which is more than scary enough, but because Jacobs is the straw that stirs the drink.

Bum is shoeless with ice around his ankle, so I don't think we will be seeing him running the point...
