Stan Heath is not going to be rushed into the HOF upon retirement. His record is pretty mixed and overall mediocre. But he has definitely been around the block and was not bad enough to keep the 2001 Gary-Waters-constructed Kent team from going to the elite 8. But probably no coach in the country has his hands full more than Stan.

Would love to have seen Toledo lose. EMU would be interesting in Cleveland.
We definitely saw them at their best. Hope we can get a win in 2nd meeting.
Saturday game might see a crowd there. But they may be done after losing Toledo. Have to play Kent there and Akron coming up. Play BG and NIU on the road to close season. Maybe favored against WMU but that team was pesky on D, big rivalry game.
We can hope they are out of it completely, have nothing to play for, we may benefit.
They need at least 3 more wins fighting it out with BG, CMU for 8th. Those teams maybe slightly easier schedule?
Must win for them against Western. Almost must win against us if they do win.

Heath was fortunate to get the Kent job when he did as they were loaded. He was okay at Arkansas but has done nothing since. He has always had the reputation of being a very good recruiter. He would not have been on Izzo’s bench if he could not recruit. He will get good players to Eastern. Let’s hope his ability to coach does not improve.

Good. We couldn't handle him. Truth. What about Carry, Casteneda & RayJ Dennis. Can we get them out of the MAC too? Dennis schooled us so bad here it was painful. I wasn't sure if Carry had any eligibility left. Casteneda is also too much to handle. Need all of them moving on or up just out.

Good point, others are going to randomly get gut shot losses and roster turnover.
I don't like any of this, but it's the new reality. Hopefully the portal is revised to lessen the trauma.

NCAA did change transfer rule this year. A player can only transfer once without sitting out a year, but if they transfer a second time the will have sit out a year unless there is a hardship!

Hallelujah. Saw Sellers and DJ tonight at the Chirpies. Lewis too. After seeing Boogie on Twitter today as one of Feed the Bird recipients I assume he is staying. If so, we are gonna have a way deeper bench in the backcourt and on the wing but less of an inside dominant offense. I think that’s ultimately what Lewis wants. A couple athletic bigs and 6 or 7 long guard wings. That’s today’s game.

After seeing Boogie on Twitter today as one of Feed the Bird recipients I assume he is staying. I would assume so. Would be a pretty stupid allocation of resources to put a guy on an NIL deal that was leaving. I was wondering about Anna Clephane as well, as she walked senior night just like Boogie did but was also recently listed on the Feed the Bird thing. Of course, with two seasons ended with ACL tears and a COVID year thrown in, I think I need an advanced calculus degree to figure out her remaining eligibility...
