We won an ugly game on the road. I will take that all day everyday. Still astounded by the improvement by Jihad and Pearson. Be nice if Akron would lose. I thought Pearson was our best player tonight for sure.

Lewis has designated Coleman as the Leader and is obviously content to live with the water damage he might cause. I will give one or both of them credit as this is the second game I have noticed that someone has throttled Coleman down before we took on too much water from his ineffective play.

Maturity is the issue with Coleman. He has no even keel. Good Boogie drills a couple threes and makes some spectacular passes and then gets cocky and Bad Boogie emerges and starts chucking bad shots, throws it all over the yard, gets to jawing, hotdogging and ball hogging. He doesn’t have the self control to calm himself and channel that energy. This is year three of playing college basketball. It’s time to grow up and lead, son. You’ve got plenty of talent but you’re all show and don’t play defense half the time. Keep your focus and stop trying to be Magic Johnson. Use some situational awareness and involve your teammates under control.
We will go as far as he leads us and he has to take better care of the basketball. In a three game scenario in Cleveland he has to be more disciplined and control his emotions or we can’t win. It’s that simple.

To me it appears Lewis is almost trying to talk him into it, or at least talk him into playing above himself. The real leader is Jacobs. It's really too bad he has to play the point this year, because I believe he could be a prolific scorer as the #2.

Enjoy a solid road win, now win both home games next. 17-7 , 8-3 with 7 games left. Not used to Card’s winning so much! Love it! Go Cards!!

Coleman is our only guy with Nards and I value his fearlessness but again he’s got no filter or thermostat. He is the most vocal and has the kind of attitude we’ve lacked in virtually every Whitford recruit. I love Jacobs and wish we could combine their DNA so each had a little of the other’s strength. DJ is much more mature, under control and is an excellent scorer and defender but he’s not as aggressive as Boogie. My biggest complaint of Whitford teams was we lacked mental toughness and didn’t grind or respond well to adversity on a consistent basis. Lewis has flipped that for the most part but our team is still too passive for my liking. Sellers is starting to get more attitude and Sparks gets pretty fired up but is just a nice kid under that massive frame.

Sellers is still quite soft, but extremely gifted. Sparks is a weird player, but definitely commands attention from the other team. Anything is possible, but I just don't see Coleman progressing much past where he is today. I'd say if anyone can pull it out of him it will be Lewis, though.

Good to see the team shoot 75% from the free throw line. This team can win a lot of games shooting that percentage. Big advantage with how often they get to the line.

BUGS will be the first team we play a second time this season. How Lewis adjusts from the first game will be interesting.

I want that Ohio game back dang it! Ohio is 10-1 at home and 3-9 on road I want the Buffalo game back. A loss at home and we were not playing like we had or have. That loss sticks in my craw more than Ohio!

Oh, I don't know. When the kids were younger, I had Legos stick in my crawl....

He had a bad game, which every player on good or bad teams is going to have. Lets see how he and rest of team turns it around next game!
