Maybe a 4 seed and the #1 suffers something tragic and is upset in game 1.
We're also one game out of the #1 seed with wins over 2 of the 3 ahead of us. We still have Kent and Toledo at home. Don't be so fast to lock us into the #4 seed.

Looking ahead, I'm hoping for 2-2 in the last 4. Out of the last 7, hoping for 5-2, but 4-3 or 3-4 more plausible. We'll lose one of those we shouldn't against EMU/WMU/NIU/BG, but maybe surprise and win one against Akron/UT/Kent.
20 win season very much a possibility. More than 20 is definitely within reach. BUT, winning MAC tourney games are what matters. Have to finish as strongly as possible to get a good seed and a better chance to win one or two in the tourney. Whit's best teams always faltered in the last 4-5 games heading into MAC tourney and blew chances at good seeds. (other than the NEARLY MADE IT TO THE NCAA TOURNEY BUT COVID CANCELLED THE MAC TOURNEY TEAM....)

Personally, we need a stronger non-conference schedule next year. This year was a great building block and a great first year for the new coaching staff, but we will need to be more ready for conference play next year. Part of the problem I believe that Coach Lewis, as we all did, underestimated this team and schedule a weak non conference. Then, when we came into MAC play, we weren't ready to play. Honestly, some of these MAC teams are some of the better teams we play.

To be fair, Lewis did indicate when the schedule came out that he tried to get some better teams on but could find no takers without taking his team all over the country for one offs. He didn't want to do that. He did NOT want to play Earlham but no one wanted to come to our place. I'm pretty sure next year's schedule will have some more meat.

We have big games down the stretch. Toughest is maybe Akron on the road. Having multiple chances for big wins is great. Lewis knows being at or near peak in MAC tourney important, good opponents, help with that. Home stretches here help with prep.
Not that wins aren't important, but I'm not sure any seed avoids a very tough road. Play well, play one at a time.
Preseason I'd have been surprised we could get to 20 wins and now we have good chance that even only 1 win in the last 4 gets us there.
Play well and get to 20, I want post season somewhere. Basketball classic and CBI provide 48 slots after NCAA and NIT fields selected. And those tournaments get you good games. Other good mid majors typically make up the fields.
We're a one bid conferences in NCAA with most likely only one team in NIT. It would take very good MAC tourney performance, getting to title game, and no sure thing then given SOS and good record of top 3 MAC teams to beat the odds and make NIT.

This year was a great building block and a great first year for the new coaching staff, but we will need to be more ready for conference play next year. Don't need much better though. Get rid of a patsy, get a mid major instead. The tourney we played in would look a lot better if we won the damned thing ... I don't think Lewis or AD had much choice in this schedule, and don't think a stronger early schedule would have been all that helpful. New coach, new system. Next year we could gain more, but I don't expect major powers, not our choice there, and scheduling good mid majors isn't entirely our choice. We can ditch a couple really weak opponents, improve.

I hope EMU arent playing for the 8th spot when we see them. I think if they are eliminated they arent the guys to keep their heads in it. But if they are focused and determined we could lose that one. I think we’ll beat Toledo and have a good shot at Kent at home. Akron on the road I expect a loss.

EXCELLENT !!!!!!!!! We didn't play any big name teams true. We also played a few real stinkers. There are a few of those in the MAC too. What our non-conference did feature was some really solid MAC caliber mid-major teams. It wasn't a schedule that is going to give you an at-large birth type of NET rating, but for a team that was getting used to a new coach I really don't think we could have had a better non-conference schedule than we had. I think it did a wonderful job prepping us for the MAC schedule. Maybe in the future we can worry about a schedule to boost our NET. This fallacy that we played an unacceptably weak non-conference schedule is nonsense.
