Huge win. This was a statement game. We can play with anyone in the MAC. It will still be a tough task, but a MAC Championship is within reach. Needed this win badly after that disappointing WMU game. The energy and excitement is back! Go Cards!

At this point it all comes down to the tournament, but had they won at western they would have what? Gotten at large? No, had they won at western, it would have all come down to the tournament, possibly with a slightly different seed. Win at Western and win out and I think we’d be conference champs. Edit: I guess it maybe would come down to tiebreakers with Kent. I don't know how that works. I actually immediately had the same thought considering that it would be great to have that one back and be only one behind Toledo. Not sure how the tiebreakers fall out for Kent (haven't done that math) but would obv have the tiebreaker over Toledo and Akron if they win out.

I didn’t realize until I looked at the box score that everyone other than Sparks combined to go 26-28 from the FT line. That was HUGE! 18 assists also has to be a season high or close. Postgame: The MAC has requested urine samples from the entire team.......

Some things you could only see if yiu were there. At some point everyone of our players stopped and just looked around and soaked it in. The best was Luke he stopped and just looked around fir 5-10 seconds. He had a grin from ear to ear. The crowd let him know too had to be the moment of his college life. Myrne Thomas also was checking it out. You could read his face and it said where was this when I was here. The student section chanting traiter was also A plus. Brady Sallee grabbing the MIC and asking for the crowd to come out and see the women was also a good moment. Me going at it with an obnoxiously drunk K state and Him getting ejected. pre game My son giving Carry some good in fun Hell and Carry actually being a decent dude and playfully talking back My son leaned over to me and calmly said Carry looked like a 28-year old homeless dude. You need to apologize to homeless dudes everywhere.

One of the great games in Cardinal basketball. Rewatching it this morning.
Tough MAC game.
Cards have established themselves as a very, very good team.

It’s always tough to watch live, always concerned about the final score. I rewatch the wins so that I can enjoy the game and pay better attention to the play of each player. Will be watching again after dinner.mi have watched a few losses when the Cards have played well.

They're very balanced offensively. Really good at the 3 ball, Sparks is an inside presence, and guards that can drive and/or distribute. Lots of motion, hardly ever see anyone standing around.
Defensively, they struggle against the 3, but otherwise are solid.
Their biggest problem is consistent depth. Bumb had a great game last night, but hasn't shown that he can deliver that every game. If Cleary can play to his potential 90% of the time, that would be huge. Jihad has flashes of great play, and is having a much better season than last. Windham has some quality minutes and shoots 40% from anywhere, but was 0-fer last night.
It just all came together last night, and made them a very dangerous team for the tournament.

Yeah I think that's why coach was trying to rest the guys ahead of WMU. Ending @akron, Toledo, then hopefully three straight tourney games is ending on five straight "leave it all on the floor games" with no bench depth.

That Sellers 3 just blew the roof off. I will remember that crowd explosion for awhile....

You pick up so much more of the game, subtle moves and individual effort that you miss live.

Any news when Pearson will be back in the line up? We already have a pretty thin bench.

This includes recruiting the players that you already have. Getting an electric experience like that for a player is something that you will remember your entire life. Being part of that game has to have been an emotional high. Any recruit / potential transfer would want to be part of that game. So happy for Luke. Starting to set the table for a MAC championship game.

Was able to watch the post game press conference. Lewis brought Sellers & Bumbalough with him. I know there has been sporadic comments on these threads about concerns of us being able to keep Sellers. I watched Sellers whenever Coach was talking & he was usually nodding in agreement. Especially when Coach talked about easing up their practices before WMU & he will not make that mistake again. That this team wants to be pushed. My take is Sellers really likes playing for Lewis. I’ll be shocked if he even enters the portal.
