if your not watching Myrin Thomas is putting on a show carrying Kent to a win Yeah I was so impressed that I had to look his 4 year stats up to see if I forgot that he was that good….he wasn’t that good for us.

Don't like Kent, but you got to be impressed with how Thomas improved. Got to wonder how he would have been by staying----based on how we improved with Halfwit's roster. Kent's D is impressive. If they play that again they will be Champs IMO.

That's an obvious tautology. But anyway, a "strong culture" apparently doesn't save a team from falling 30 points behind a mid-level opponent and generally shitting diarrhea down their leg in a conference tourney, so what you would call a "strong culture" seems to be of...you know... limited usefulness. No not true bc by in its truest sense it does emphasize the point that culture is essential for winning and thus the duality between the two is undeniable. Your point is posed on the past, my point is posed on the future. In other words incommensurable. Uh...right. I think you might be an early version of chat gpt that didn't quite work out.

You really think that roster was even close to a good one? I think Whitford spent 2 years learning some harsh reality about becoming a HC. Did not do well. A low grade for sure. But had he been totally ready I doubt he'd have won more than 10 games with that group. As it was some players didn't fit his system, some he couldn't coach, and we can blame him. But not enough to say he was going to turn around the team compared to the year below. It is completely fair about Lewis to say he had significantly more talent this year. He also did a far better job as a new HC. He did manage a turn around. Whit had put together perhaps his best roster for this year, but I don't think anybody here believes he would have done this well. It was a better roster than a 5-25 team. A 10-20 record, or a few games better, instead of 5-25 would have been reasonable with Whitford's first year roster. The floor of that (10-20) would have been a 100% increase. I would take that yearly increase on my stock portfolio any day. Whitford only won 2 MAC games that year, victories over Buffalo and Central Michigan. Think about that, 1-9 against the horrible MAC West division. Based on what I've seen of Lewis this year, he would have been 5-5 or 6-4 against the MAC West with the players Whitford had to work with in year one. I will not argue that Lewis had more talent this year. That is obvious to anyone with half a brain.

BSU’s new AD made his debut in Cleveland and was pictured on Twitter a few times. Seems like a great guy that will do an excellent job for BSU athletics!

Sucks that we are watching from the sidelines again, but we're used to that, aren't we? But anyway the Toledo/Kent championship match up is obviously as it should be. I see that the pointspread is "EVEN".
Fun.
If only.....sigh.

Nope, nope, nope... Lewis is the real deal. A 20 game winner in his first season, with someone else's players? He's the guy. The injuries at season's end were likely more troubling than we know. Dog, all those players are from Whit! Do you have any idea how blessed Lewis was? He could've been left with what Whit had to start here, which was an absolutely awful team! Michael Lewis is a good coach, but these players come from Whit. It was a good season, but he didn't bring any contributors in this year. He also had the benefit of being a new coach, (which players buy into easier) than one that's been there for a while and can seem boring or like the system isn't working. He's the guy. Sure. Nice playoff performance, Michael. Why so critical and bitter? This was not a championship roster by a long shot. Some good pieces but lacked depth and was still a better team than anything Whitford did last season with Thomas and Cochran in the top 8. Lewis is an upgrade in every meaningful category. Better motivator, bench coach, developer, strategist and 100 times better with the students, fan base, donors you name it. It was a disappointing last two weeks. The rest was a blast and far more interesting than the past five years under James. That’s a fact.

Pushing for Toledo, never thought that would happen. But, if Kent wins they join us for the most MAC Tournament wins with 7, Go Toledo!

Now it’s RayJ vs Carry/Jacobs. Kent pulling away. Dammit.

Kent is the better team. They play great defense and had a very tough OOC schedule. Toledo was only close in the first half because they had many more free throws. To the Rockets credit, they hit those freebies. The Flashes will hopefully represent the MAC very well.
Go Cards!

Kent definitely the better team in my view! I could see them as high as an 11 or 12 seed! Could make a run in the tournament.
